That's why you just save scum for S's. And by S's I mean, Olwen and Ryoma, which are far and away the best.

Also fun fact build has a cap. Merrin's is 12. It makes sense there is a cap, I just never expected to see it.

I don't wanna save scum, though. Also melding a Fates ring would make me feel icky.

I agree with this, like if you're gonna complain then either shut up and do it or don't do it at all and still shut up.

I'm not giving up but obviously I can't just do it a bunch because the game is being stupid as a penis shit.

But yes, as it is currently designed it's a very bad system, with insane resource cost for relatively weak pay off. I don't think anyone would argue that. Especially since this game doesn't let you transfer the rings forward, which makes the idea of turning it into a collectathon even worse.

Like it'd be one thing if rings were shared between game files. Then it'd be a fun little diversion to spend the extra bond fragments you pick up through playthroughs, and realistically, it's not like carrying over bond rings would really fundamentally alter the game balance.

Depending on the paralogue you might get a couple thousand bucks. Nothing notable

The Japanese choice to pronounce Lucina as Lu-ki-na rather than Lu-shi.na is weird to me.

I'm not that far yet, but the support convos seem really basic and short so far. They're just a couple lines each that say almost nothing about the character. Anyone else find this?

The supports in general are short and not very deep. Some of them are really bad, but others manage to strike it right. Honestly, I kind of welcome it. The game is not Three Houses. The characters do not have the depth and the interaction that it had. As such, I didn't mind too much finishing every single mission in Three Houses and being greeted by 45 minutes of support scenes to go through, because that character interaction was interesting.

In Engage every part of the design is more geared towards minor somniel wrap up and then getting right back into the action. And I like that. 45 minutes of support conversation in Engage would be the worst.

That's fair, but Awakening was like that too and I still remember it having some really good ones. The supports between Henry and Ricken are one of my favorites.

There's a reason why people say this story fits more for the female than the male, no man would ever act this whiny , like I get why Alear is like this but doesn't excuse it being fucking annoying, this same shit is the reason male Corrin got dumped for female Corrin

Also this story really sucks. The characters too. Its a big stepdown from three houses..

Three Houses was the best Fire Emblem could be and that's really sad because Three Houses is garbage imo everything about Edelgard ruined that game for me, that and the ugly art style

Three Houses is a huge outlier in the Fire Emblem franchise when it comes to great story and characters, but it sacrificed gameplay in the process. If anything, Engage is closer to the franchise norm of "decent" story and characters to go along with great gameplay.

Not that I know of. Just use the unit in battle while they have an Emblem/Bond ring equipped.

My Boucheron has 17 build. It is not capped. I don't even know if there are weapons with 17 weight.

The trick is change her class after she promotes so she doesn't contend for sword use

Or use crit swords on her because she can handle them well at the loss of extra bulk that he has.

I'm pretty sure the best Lapis option is to spend a few hundred bond on Leif to get axe and bow proficiency and just make her a warrior. She'll immediately have 18 strength and Long Bow backup support.

Also giant midriff if you are into that sort of thing.

I just bought it not too long ago. They didn't hold back on the thickage at all.

Lapis with Ike and a Wo Dao was pretty great. Took just enough chip damage to get more crit with wrath and annihilate everything

I'm not sure I'd call them nukes. Her strength this pretty mediocre and ultimately it's just a 1.67x damage attack.

Does delete flyers though.

Astra Storm is so fun, and Mulagir helps it annihilate Dragons. I've had Lyn on Etie and the combination of Call Double meatbags surrounding a bow user so no one can get in melee range makes her a weird off-tank for like one turn, or more if the doubles dodge a lot.

I wonder how much better it would have been had I used Alcryst though, because just like Lapis and Boucheron I feel like they give you way better versions of the character later on.

"Alcryst" is annoying and Etie is awesome

Idk I promoted my Lapis into a hero with lance usage to have an extra lance around. Stacked her with speed and avoid and shes done pretty well. I might end up benching her when I get Goldmary though

I feel like I have a ton of lances, and it enough of the other stuff But Im still early. Haha.

FE7 was released on the Wii U and 8 on the 3DS (I think) through the ambassador programme. Not having them on current hardware is so stupid.

I went swordmaster for the dex and speed growths and have her on wolf knight (sword) now to work on more resistance and attack. I'll get her to hero after to cap off attack and more defense and hp. I'll stat max Merrin and Alear first because they got a boots boost lol.

My assumption is that they fear releasing old FE games would cut into the profit of new ones because some players would be content with what they got and not dive into the latest FE goes anime title.

Presumably that's why they did the bullshit with FE1 on the Switch.

Anna is adorable. It was her main selling point. Then I promoted her and now she isn't adorable anymore.

Yunaka sage looks great but obviously nobody should ever run that except for a meme run. Like how on the 3H board someone did a "worst promotion path for each unit and worst ones among them" run and settled on the Golden Deer. Mage Claude apparently could only fail upwards lol.

Does anyone give tome aptitude other than Celica?

I'm trying to build Anna off of skirmishes so I can also make money without overleveling my main army but I'm only on Chapter 14.
