It's why they wanted to selectively take chunks from an already established franchise and duct tape it into a half-assed "reimagined" Frankenstein that nobody really asked for. They stink at creating anything remarkably original and worthy of applause. All they can do is awkwardly mutate shit for the sake of change and call it brilliant. That's what "reimagined" typical means with Netflix. Diversity and inclusion can be part of a successful equation in entertainment. This shit they slapped Mindy Kaling's name on is just three different kinds of lazy rolled into one.
