I need to finish Ragnarok, but I'm near the end and I don't think it's topping Elden Ring.

I will use this time to shout-out High on Life, which surprised me more than anything. Just from a gameplay perspective, movement is so damn fun; it's basically a Doom-style shooter and I had no idea going into it. I honestly didn't dig the humor for a while, just loved the gameplay and Metroid Prime-esque exploration. But by the end, it somehow pulled the biggest 180 of all time on me and...I think it's probably the funniest game ever made. The jokes can still be hit or miss (like the toilet warp disc joke is just not funny), but when they hit, they hit hard. So many hilarious moments you can just happen upon by accident. I don't know if it took me a bit to adjust to the humor or if the jokes got better as it went along. But I adore that game and couldn't recommend it more.
