Can personally confirm it's great for Persona 5 Royal.

I've also used it extensively for Super Robot Wars 30 and some of the Disgaea games. Good stuff all around.

yeah at maybe 15 frames per second.

Don't get me wrong I like the Switch, I've been enjoying Violet on it quite a bit, but the hardware has been outdated since it came out. The Steam Deck is literally a better Switch.

I really want a Steam Deck, would probably get me to play so many more RPGs, which are best played on a handheld. But Im supposed to be saving money, so I really shouldnt until I know Im stable.

At shit frame rates. Steam deck gives all the PC options to customize performance.

Hell I was able to get a pretty consistent 40 fps on GoW 2018 with lots of graphics tweaks. And no it did not involve using AMDs DLSS equivalent to make it look like a PS2 game.

Not gonna see performance like that on switch.

Hopefully it was me just being dumb, but I got Black Ops 3 on sale last week and spent two days trying to get it to work on my Deck. Had to get it refunded, but hope you have better luck than I do.

Mine was a game changer because I only have handheld systems. To be fair, I have a PS3 that doesnt work. The point is that I largely missed out on everything from the previous gaming generation and now I can get caught up, even with modern stuff.

My only complaint is that more demanding games will drain the battery life quickly. For example, the Fallout games give you maybe two hours before it gets down to 10%

Rimworld isn't on Switch anyway, neither is modded Stardew Valley (without modding my Switch, and I can't do that to an OLED as far as I know), not sure the Pathfinder games are but I doubt it

Also yeah the performance and the 1400 owned game library is a big bonus over the Switch

It's amazing

The only thing it says it runs, but doesn't, is Baulder's Gate 3. It gives me pink color in place of some other colors.

I use it mostly for [ToS] and playing hacks of popular games

Update, I gave in. In my defense, I just paid some bills, so I know where my finances stand for at least 6 months out. And Id been thinking about it for months.
