If he's found guilty of wrongdoing in the Miss welfare fraud mess, should he be removed from Hall Of Fame?

Hmm well Pete Rose can't get into baseball's Hall Of Fame so I'd say yes Favre, if found guilty of wrongdoing should be removed from the football Hall Of Fame.

Halls of Fame are about "fame". Their mission shouldn't to police whether people are good ambassadors or not (and the voters are clearly incapable of doing so).

If he's a dick/criminal who knowingly defrauded a welfare system...I will judge him as such regardless of the honors he has.

Sure.
Still pissed that the governors and people in power that made these deals aren't facing jail and massive fines, they're far more guilty than Favre.

We do seem to have two different justice systems. One for the rich and one for the not so rich.

Let Rose in, I don't care. The problem is that it's inconsistently enforced, which makes it unclear what the whole point is. If we want to kick out everyone who cheated or was terrible in some way a lot more have to go (maybe including Favre).

People have discussed rebranding halls of fame as museums... which is basically what it is anyway. That way we don't have these arguments about morality of an athlete. This way you could let them in and simultaneously acknowledge whatever allegations

Except that's a radically different situation.

Rose is out because of literal gambling and potentially manipulating game outcomes, which is detrimental to the sport itself and hurt it for a long time.

Favre's getting in trouble for stuff that has literally nothing to do with football at all, and the only real argument to keeping him out of the hall of fame would be that shitty moralists feel like bad people shouldn't be honored in any way for their unrelated accomplishments.

It would be a more accurate analogy to Pete Rose to say that Tom Brady should never go into the hall of fame because of Deflategate.

That's really the only choice that makes sense, IMO.

I thought he only bet on his own team?
How the fuck do rig a game to auto-win for your team? If he bet against his own team and threw the games, it'd make sense. But like...they're already trying to win anyway.

Favre's getting in trouble for stuff that has literally nothing to do with football at all, and the only real argument to keeping him out of the hall of fame would be that shitty moralists feel like bad people shouldn't be honored in any way for their unrelated accomplishments.
What Pete Rose did didn't hurt anybody.
Favre stole (or tried to...forgot if he gave it back after he got caught) federal aid money meant to help people in need, harming potentially thousands of people.

Pete Rose gambled on baseball games as a player and coach. Not the same situation at all. He should be allowed in the baseball hall of fame. The only people that should be removed are ones who were revealed to have cheated such as athletes on steroids.

His gambling never had a chance to change the outcomes of games. He always bet on himself.

I think thats their point: even those from places he played think he should face consequences for this. And Im another Minnesotan for the record.
