I'm guilty of using the N-Zap... Love the gun and love the Tacticooler weirdly...

Been branching out and actually using other weapons lately though... Like now I love the Sloshing Machine...

Well this Salmon Run rotation has been disastrous. I fell from Eggsecutive VP 100 to Profreshional +3 and have won exactly one of eleven shifts since the demotion lol. Then I got another pay cut for a connection error at the start of a shift so I'm calling it until next rotation.

I still think Dynamo is fun to use in SR, but it's really impractical, and paired with the bow, it's a rough loadout.

Cohozuna won't show up for me.

My meter has been full for the past few Salmon Run games and even when we clear wave 3 he won't show up.

This been happening to anyone else?

This Salmon Run cycle has been atrocious. Doesn't help that no one kills the little guys or the ranged bosses.

Also hate how Cohozuna only seems to pop up for me when the stage is at its smallest. He takes up 80% of the fucking level lol still have yet to beat him.

Why is the game allergic to giving out two guns in a single salmon run rotation?

They're two of the best guns in the game, N-zap arguably THE best so people use them because they're the meta picks

Been trying to get into a splatfest all weekend. I know they reduced the chance of getting a match but this is rediculous

Splatfest doesn't start til this weekend. That's why the square is under construction. Rn you should be wearing your Team Gear shirt and farming ability chunks. If you're Team Food or Team Fun you can just stop playing forever.

It's really infuriating that they count connection errors as losses.

This is so ridiculous. We were 2 seconds from winning rain maker and someone on the other team ragequit so we didn't get the win. They need to fix this shit.

Has anyone been able to get gold scales from salmon run? Killing Cohozuna has been impossible for me ngl so idk if they drop at Profreshional +1 or not.

I have one gold scale I received in the rank below Profreshional after losing to Cohozuna. Seems kinda random. I've yet to beat Cohozuna

Cohozuna was possible in the earlier difficulties. Later on, it feels almost impossible. Some weapons are significantly better, and with coordination I'm sure it's possible. Generally it doesn't feel like killing the mini bosses for the egg launch is worth it, but it's better for like rollers to kill mobs and the rest the focus on killing Cohozuna.

Also if the map becomes small, it's basically gg tbh. If the map extends, you lure him to the far edges and just keep wailing on him

But yeah it's nearly impossible in Profreshional it feels like

Cohozuna is definitely rough no matter what. You definitely wanna take out the lesser bosses during the battle though. The eggs are decent damage and the other bosses will absolutely get in your way if left alone. You need to get lucky though and have a really good team.

I literally just had a match where it went to the victory screen...then gave me a loss

I think it's supposed to be something you don't win every time you see him so it's a big deal when you do. Having said that, they need to adjust it because it's beyond ridiculous. In all the times I've played I've only beat him once, even with teams where we've absolutely destroyed all 3 waves. Either make the egg launcher stronger or your main weapons do more damage. I've also yet to receive a gold scale. I did get enough silver ones for the green slopsuit though so that's alright.

Absolutely pisses me off how some people play Salmon Run. Completely ignoring the little guys and avoiding bosses like the tall laser thing and the trash can missile guy. I die more from those three things than anything else in Salmon Run.

Yeah the flyfish is annoying as hell. Doesn't help there's only one way to deal with it.

Well you can also beat them with the cannons during cohock charges, egg launchers during king salmon fights, and about five different specials, but you only have limited access to all of these methods, so in general yeah, flyfish are bastards. And whenever you're in position, ready to throw both bombs in one go, they'll just hang out with their baskets closed for five minutes as other salmon close in to block your shots and/or murder you. >:[

Also I swear their baskets are more slippery and more bouncy than in S2. Sooo many bombs just go flying out after perfectly good shots.

I have both the Zelda Joycons and the Pro Controller. Pro controller is probably the second best controller of all time right behind the Xbox Elite Series 2. But if you have no other joycons then I Def recommend either sending your left one in or getting a replacement over the Pro controller.

That being said, I've played Splat3 with both Pro and joycon and it's way, way better with the Pro controller.

I do think the Wii U pro was a bit better than the Switch Pro. Probably the D-Pad alone makes the Wii U one superior, as that's my biggest misgiving with the Switch Pro con.

But yeah getting used to Pro is better than getting used to Joy-con, cuz I've found like my arms get tired with Joy-cons and my aim gets thrown off, as only your right arm matters. That's only after like a stupid amount of hours played in a row though lul

Pro con, you get to use both hands. The side by side motion gets a bit harder to do, but it's more stable.

The only game I willingly choose to use joycons over pro controller is Super Mario Odyssey

Is anyone else just absolute dogshit at Splat pvp? I feel like I'm constantly out-ranged and out-damaged by other players even if they're using worse weapons or the same weapon. Like it literally feels like they're cheating with half of the shootouts I get into. It's not like I was great in Splat 2, but at least I could ink and in relative peace and occasionally stealth splat since there were stages that didn't just let chargers murder you at any time in 80% of the stage.

At least Salmon Run is 24/7 now. I'm pretty good there as long as there isn't more than one useless weapon.

Tbh 80% of splatting someone is out maneuvering them. There are times where I feel like the spray rng is bullshit (been using the aerospray recently and oh man, that spread is awful at times) but as long as you can get close and around someone you should be getting kills consistently.

If you're going head to head with someone at a distance there are way too many factors that could result in a death that feels like bs.

I went from B- to B last night, but I've barely played Anarchy and started at B- with the data import. But yeah with squelchies I'll shoot at an aerospray or splattershot or whatever from a distance, and usually hit once at most as they walk up and murder me no problem. Once I was engaging another squelchers user who was firing uphill at me and hit me multiple times while none of my shots connected.

Last night I tried out some rollers and lost all like ten turf wars in the process. Of course there's an adjustment period with new weapons, but that seemed excessive. I did manage some satisfying splats, but some flicks definitely underperformed. Although testing on the balloons in the lobby, I guess the flicks can also be inconsistent if you're more than a foot or two away, so that's fair. Kinda disappointed at how risky it is to ink the ground with rolling though.

Are you dodge rolling? Afaik squelchers have really inconsistent aim until you dodge. Also, you shouldn't worry too much about getting kills using squelchers, they're not generally slayer weapons. Focus on getting enemy attention and not dying to make kills easier for slayers.

Rollers rely heavily on sharking/ambushing. You'll lose pretty much every straight up fight with a player of similar skill. Most of them also suck at turfing so if you can't reliably get kills they're not good in turf war. Also, don't use the roll. Vertical flicks should be your main mode of attack.

Maybe look into weapon roles if you haven't and see what appeals to your playstyle.

Squelchers aren't killers like the regular dualies. I don't even think they get the focused aim after the dodge roll.

Damn. I was playing with them in Salmon Run and the cursors didn't cross over after the dodge.

Splatoon 1 and 2 were both mostly for kiddo and I just played story mode and dipped my toes in online, and honestly I went in prepared for this to be the same.

But between getting heavily infected with the hype and the launch lining up with the mini gremlin starting HS, this one was flipped the script.

Been playing with most of my spare time and now i'm at lvl 24 with my catalogue in the mid 50s. Hit A- rank today.

Dark Tetras are my favs but they DO have the drawback that you are kept stationary for a second after a dodge roll.
