Branded Despia itself isnt as hard to deal with but the variations I am seeing like Branded Eldlich, Branded Lord of the Heavenly etc. are what annoying. I am personally thinking to go with Branded Striker since I saw one and it was annoying as hell

I somehow had a 15-turn duel against a Numeron deck. My 6 material Zeus got Kaiju'd (this is when I first realized it might be a Numeron deck), I had terrible luck with Pot Of Desires (1st Desires drew the 2nd, 2nd Desires drew the 3rd, 3rd was dead due to not enough cards left in the deck), and any time I tried to attack with that Kaiju or one of my Zoodiac monsters, I'd get hit with Threatening Roar or Droplet or something. Yet I somehow won because it took him until turn 15 to draw Numeron Network, and when he finally did, I destroyed it with Drident right away and he scooped. I only had like 3 cards left in my deck at that time too, so I was more afraid of him stalling me to a deckout than I was of him actually resolving Numeron Network.

I wonder if anyone who plays has ever actually had a match come down to that one draw. "if i can just draw "that" i can win!"

Ngl, I had an intense duel vs Swordsoul where it came down to my last draw. I drew Foolish Burial, which was by far the best draw I could've had by a massive margin. I sent Priestess to the grave and started back my Adventurer plays again. Honestly a pretty fun archetype, if it weren't for Griffon Rider to be the literal only draw to the deck.

Can't say the Papillon into the field spell protection was any good though because Papillon itself can be affected

Adventure is a surprisingly cheesy archetype when played pure. I stole a few wins with my shitty normal monster "beatdown" deck that was made exclusively for the "attack monsters" mission, thanks to the Adventure cards lol.

You know, honestly, I think a card in the top 5 strongest card of all time has to include Sangan.

Sangan was already errata'd to absolute oblivion just to be able to escape the banlist, and then after the errata, it's still the most powerful opener in a Halq-legal format and still strong because it can still pull off a free DPE.

Not every deck can use Sangan, but I think a LOT of decks actually can throughout its entire history of existence

Also people might not remember, but Sangan's existence had to singlehandedly change how Xyz work. Xyz materials do not count as being on the field solely due to Sangan working with Tour Guide and being a free searcher on top of everything.

Yeah we're literally seeing Sangan's brokenness through Links in the modern days. Hilariously this still makes Sangan a good search target for Tour Guide

Sangan without erratas would've probably just have been a hard perma-ban as soon as links became a thing though. Unless of course they printed Almiraj to require more than 1000 atk, though in which case, people could be running 3 Tour Guides 1 Sangan from the days of yore

Gambled by destroying my last Boot Sector with Tracer to cough a Rokket, then link with Noctovision into Masquerena to proc Noctovision effect to draw a card from the deck to push for win.

That one card actually did help in making Borrelsword.

Basically this banlist set up for either a Tearlament t0 format or a Mystic Mine/Tearlament 2 deck format. I don't think any other deck in the entire pool can come even close to their overall power level

All in all, I can't remember a banlist causing a straight up t0 from recent memory. It's usually a set release that does it. But by gum, TCG's managed it, and now it's being set up to be the worst banlist of the 3

I mean they have like literally 4 girls on the cover with like each of them being big favorites design wise and waifu factor wise lul. I'm pretty sure they can sell a ton of this set without a banlist to destroy the entire meta.

People saying spright get substitoad have no idea what they're talking about. It is level 1 and has 0 synergy with sprights. You can't even use it to make Toadally Awesome. It might find a place in very VERY casual frog decks or a random ftk deck but I don't see spright using it.

You use substitoad as the cost for his effect rather than use him for any extra deck summoning. Also he's summonable via One For One, which makes him a 2 card additional consistency booster in exchange for losing a huge extender in Ronintoadin.

You wouldn't summon Substitoad after you already summoned Gigantic Sprite, but you don't get locked out of being able to summon Substitoad prior to that

Definitely feel like there are easier ways to get toad out than -1ing yourself with one for one.

Spright Twins and Runick will probably be the dominant build. 2 Ki Sikil frost main decked can still give you turn 1 elf toad.

You go -1 for the extender option because it's a special summon. Also Substitoad isn't once per turn, which is the thing that makes it bannable in the first place. It's possible people can find a far broken board with a Substitoad loop. I don't have enough familiarity with them to know for sure, but yeah seems like a lot of people are just running more Live Twins for Toads instead, but I've seen people still keep a minimal Frog engine with Substitoad regardless.

It's clearly not as good as before and Tears are just gonna be better, and I think that does show how important the overall Frog engine was for them, including Halq to some extent, since you can use Deep Sea Diva

Unfortunately... Currently planning to swap to them before Perlerinos get even more ridiculously expensive..

Done with the event on my main account, including using the Swordsoul loaner deck to do the Synchro summon mission. Not sure if I'll do the same on my side account, because man, I just don't find this Swordsoul deck fun to play at all.

No, sprights will be a hell of a lot worse on MD than in TCG because MD has Maxx "C". I never liked Halq and cut it from my deck a long time before it was banned. Unless MD does a preemptive toad ban or something, Sprights are gonna dominate for a little while.

The main difference and why they were tier 0 in the OCG and not the TCG was the fact you could search for Maxx C with gigantic spright and bounce it back to your hand with swap frog.

Yeah it was to the point OCG people and ppl looking from the outside treated Maxx C as like the boss mon of Sprights. Halq in Sprites could basically add a hand trap back onto your hand if you had Swap Frog on the board. It's also the best Link-2 you can summon outside the Spright one

O damn. Thats very interesting. I know Sprites and then Tears are coming up next on the menu. Feels like they will both hit like a bomb when they do come out though. Much like Swordsoul has done

Btw, I tried Cross Duel. It's actually much much better than I ever thought it would be. Now only if it ended there. There's possibly one of the worst fucking UX design I've seen in the recent years. It takes fucking eternity to do ANYTHING.

God, I wish there was a way to play this mode like... for free with 0 hassle and all the abilities and cards available. I do generally like the concept of making the best of what I pulled, but the pull amount is a bit meager for a start, and nowadays seems like I'm contending with people who has like 5 times the better card pool vs. me. But I did bully several lobbies due to pulling the absolute nuts and pulling off the best strategy I've done so far where I literally had 2 big monsters in every lane

If you wanna know how wild that one was, I had 8k LP and there were 2 ppl with 0 LP lmao. I literally just ran them over.

I started with Stardust, pulled Odd-Eyes. Stardust is my lead in order to abuse his 3* or less monster infinite revival skill, but synchros are stupidly hard to summon compared to the others imo.

There are also single player modes including teaming up with a CPU to do a 2v2 vs 2 other CPUs. Well, that experience was entirely ruined by my partner CPU REFUSING to do anything for 3 whole turns, losing the entire duel on their own

But like bizarrely... sometimes this game has deeper strategies than the current TCG...

Man, it's such a good concept, but the build really fucking sucks. There's no way to skip animations either. In the PVE duels, the fucking CPUs will say their entire summoning line for their ace, and the animation doesn't even play. The sequence goes like this: camera pans to them, character starts saying their line, which in the Zexal mode takes 15 seconds, no joke, animation plays, which is another 15 seconds, and there are also slight loads and brief nulls in between and after, which amounts to about a minute of doing literally nothing. Now this will happen twice because there are 2 CPUs... If you wanna make it worse, have your teammate CPU run their own signature monster with the original summoning type skill attached...

a Zombie World player wanted to crash their monster so they can banish that monster to revive Uni-Zombie who most likely would search Balerdoch(sp?) on MP2 (previously I Ash'd the search).
Borrelsword Dragon denied the pleasure and changed the monster to defense position.

I dont have the energy to get into another Yugioh gacha but Cross Duel does look nice. Im jealous of the models, at least.

Lost to a PendMages player while I was using SwordSoul. Kind of on me though since I shotgunned my Max Cs to shut down their Pendulum plays. Shouldve been more consientous to the fact that I had bricked and my entire gameplan was "for the love of god keep Chengus on the field"

Still though, Pendulums are based so hats off random Japanese Pendulum Player With Great Taste

Yeah I don't think it's worth getting into Cross Duel. It's a really good format though, but the playerbase seems a bit meager, and all the discussion areas on this game seem entirely dead or nonexistent to begin with.

But like strategically, it's so good. One bad thing is that sometimes the 3 other players all completely gang up on you, and there's nothing you can do about it. Some traps will completely halt one lane in place, but it's difficult to manage even 2 people attacking you at full strength

Also the gacha rates are horrendous. I'm pretty sure I haven't pulled good... like ever lol. I pulled DM Girl which is really nice, but after a while, I switched to a pendulum based strategy because that's just the best my pool of cards can do right now.

And yeah the models are super nice, but they really make the game go super slow. I wish they had a mode where a lot of that was accelerated.

Actually the single player mode... has an unlockable cutscene skip feature it seems... Oh my god, it takes a bit of duels to unlock it, and the CPU partners literally throwing every other duel really doesn't help

People like you are why I pack Lava Golems and Kaijus in so many decks.

Synchrons and Zoos are basically the 2 strongest decks in a mass banlist free spree formats. I don't even think drawing the out truly outs them sometimes, esp when both decks are running amok and Sphere mode does nothing against Zoos, and it's by far the best option for Synchrons.

No banlist? Nah full power Zoo might be the best deck but Synchrons wouldn't stand a chance. Spyral would also be a top contender.

Lmao I beat someone in a Swordsoul mirror match when they were using their actual legit Swordsoul deck and I was using the inferior loaner deck version. I know he wasn't using the loaner too because he used Baronne and Maxx C on me and he had a royal Mo Ye too.

Love my kaijus and Pank but drawing into them when I don't really need them hurts sometimes.

Synchrons literally won multiple tournaments of a theoretical heavy unbanning spree, Zoos and True Dracos winning quite a bit too. The problem with Spyrals is that Synchrons actually only got stronger over time because they essentially fucking own the entire Synchro type. True Dracos basically win off the classic Masterpeace trap immune and a bunch of floodgates. But generally they can't do much going second.

Spyrals just stayed mostly the same power for years. Zoos got Zeus, and that alone basically jumped their power level multiplefolds. No banlist means killing Zeus is the end, so they just win every grind game, and they have infinite resource game when they're full power

Also unlike True Dracos that rely on floodgate traps which are still negate-able by turn 3, and they have trouble clearing a big board, if Synchrons draw DRNM going second, they also just win. So it's not even strictly about winning the coin toss. They also get infinite draws off Hyper Librarian, which makes them have a whole lot of stuff on hand to deal with like a Sphere Mode/Lava Goleming their entire field.

Had a 6 turn duel Floow vs Despia. Had to keep cycling Ostrich->Toucan to get Empen back because they kept outing my field. >_>

And is it just me or are more people running Raigeki now? Banlist changes havent even taken place yet but it feels like I see it more often.
