Honestly now that I think of it, it was a misplay on my part. I could just let Baronne resolve (causing it to lose its negate) and the opponent might make an Auroradon after Halq, which made it prime for 2nd Gamma.

It not only counters backrow wipes, it also gets rid of DPE and is spell speed 3 so it gets around other common negates aside from Solemn and Red Reboot.

Can anyone give some criticism for my majestic deck? I had been running a non-majestic deck a for a while and I wanted to start using majestic. I tested this on a bot and it seems okay, but I have problems with consistency.

As expected, the next event is confirmed to be Synchro+Xyz. Like I said before, it'll be interesting to see what decks will be like without the common Halq/Auroradon/Verte/DPE shenanigans plaguing ranked right now, but we need to see the event banlist before I can judge if the event will actually be fun or not. There's still Numeron OTK and floodgate strategies that don't use the extra deck to worry about, so we'll have to wait and see. I do have a deck that could work for this stipulation on both my accounts (Danger Kaiju on my main account, pure Drytron on my side account) but I'll probably just ignore the stipulaton and play my U.A. sportsball chads again.

Try dropping Raigeki, Reborn, Pot, and Imperm. Crossout being at 1 should, imo, be treated as a third Called for Maxx and Ash, rather than relied on for taking out staples, so that single Imperm probably won't have a huge impact. Avarice probably won't be too useful because, honestly, whenever I play against Synchros, they seem to live and die by their first turn board, and don't really need to recycle monsters, and Librarian gives you all the hand advantage you could need.

I don't know the archetype well enough to help you with ratios, but consider how many of those spells and monsters you actually want to see in your opening hand. Instinct tells me you could probably get by with at least one of those 3-ofs going to 2. (Especially since you'll probably be relying on Speeder to summon few of them)

Huh. Someone brought up the really good point that the new Odd-Eyes Rebellion Overlord can be used to make a 4-mat Zeus. Gonna have to seriously consider them now. >____>

I don't exactly have confidence in my Synchron deck and I...don't exactly have Xyz-focused deck (unless you count that lone Rage of Cipher structure that I bought).

Back when Synchro fest was running I used mismatch of Kaiju and /Assault Mode engine but that's meh at most.

I'm tempted to rank up to Platinum because even with my janky rogue decks, Gold is starting to lose its edge. But, I also want to stay in Gold for the festival because every time I've done events in Plat or higher I've had a bad time. >____>

Ah well, maybe I'll dust off Mayakashi. Been a long time since I've summoned Ice Ghost Waifu and I'm pretty sure it's bad enough that I'll actually lose to DM and Blue-Eyes <______<

Kinda both lol. I want a more challenging experience in ranked, but I want to just rush through the events for the gems.

Gosh I wish the events didn't just copy your level from ranked, then I wouldn't even have this issue. I could rank up on the regular ladder without much stress and chill in the lower event ranks with whatever silly thing I cobbled together. Not so much of an issue now that I've got a good roster of both Synchro and Xyz cards, but it would still be nice to not have to default to the meta stuff.

It really is. I like that I can do my dailies with shit like Zombies and Odd-Eyes and not get instantly obliterated by HalqDon.dek . But I think most of the good players are climbing out of it by now and I'm just levelling so fast, so constant deranking is a timewaster, and it feels like I'm bullying kids lol

I'm dismantling my Adventurer/DPE Sky Striker deck after this, but I'm keeping my going 2nd Sky Striker deck even without Halqifibrax to climb to Accesscode. Raigeki, Pankratops, and Red Reboot all going from 1 to 2 are huge boosts to blind going 2nd decks, plus Rivalry and Gozen being semi-limited are hits to floodgate decks.

The recently released Dark Charmer link monster is the best bet to climb to Accesscode because Dark is the most common attribute, plus Shark Cannon and Widow Anchor can still yoink link materials from the opponent. I'm also considering including Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Chaos as another possible finisher since 2 Pankratops will make summoning it with its targeting/destruction protection easier.

Either way, don't totally abandon Sky Strikers. Eventually we're going to get Linkage and H.A.M.P, and those two cards will be huge boosts for the deck.

Well everyone is playing Ash so Hiita can definitely work as another option.

Adventurer gets hit but with only essentially 3 copies of Rite, I think it can still work somehow and certainly making Foolish Burial a bit more desirable.

There was also an announcement that you can now generate any banned card (including Pot Of Greed, whatever that card does) to use in unlimited duel rooms now, plus apparently the event banlist for the Synchro+Xyz festival dropped tonight too. I'll look at that tomorrow though, it's late and I'm tired.

That is a very nice general banlist, even if the Halq ban is probably gonna hose my ZW and Magistus decks.

As for the event... dammit, I guess I'm gonna have to actually try this event and not just play Pacifis or True Dracos out of pure spite. Good thing I have my YosenKaiju deck, and I can adjust my SS Tenyi deck to have some XYZs if necessary.

Oh, and the birds got shot out of the sky, which... ya know. Pointing and laughing.

Holy boly with a bole on top halq is dead. I'm a bit saddened, but I'm not too negative about it. I just realized that I have a sweet prism Isolde that can infuse into several of my decks. Not nearly as neat as using Halq though, I tell you hwat

And well imo Synchros are just really fucking powerful turn 1. I'm not too surprised there were hits. Synchrons are supposedly really powerful in a bunch of weird formats, and people just don't experiment enough with em.

I'd also not mind if they ever banned Zeus, but if they did, then literally nobody would play Xyz this event

Why the fuck did they limit Joker and Wisdom Eye? Why did they ban Qliphort Scout? What are these decks even supposed to do without Link support?

The sheer carnage the list does to Floo is kinda funny. Banning the statues would've been enough to make them manageable. Then they go and limit all their starters in addition to banning all the pots they use kek

In general I am curious to see how this plays out. They kneecapped 8-Axis, too. Looks like they want a relatively low-power event, will be interesting.

Finding a way to get Lv. 7 bodies for Xyz into Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon will be really, really hard.
Can't even count on RE Malefic because it needs a field spell and /surprise, Terraforming is also a no no.

They also didn't touch Galaxy Tomahawk. Adventure line was heavily nerfed so it's less consistent, but you can always just spam lvl 7s and summon Auroradon via Tomahawk. It's actually fairly easy with the Tenyis and Adventures

Also I just had a heart pounding 14 turns duel against a Sky Striker Mekk Knights. He was basically using a control variant with Sky Strikers as extenders.

I bricked hard and was basically playing defense, Nibiru'ing his field once. He actually had the game this one time... and I held my Impermanence probably like way more than I should've, but the game dragged so long that I managed to literally run him out of most of his playable Mekk-Knights. He did really have game, but he widow anchor'd from his hand to target my D-Hero Decider (he had 2 spells in grave), and he Engage'd to search for his 2nd Widow Anchor. He didn't realize that because Decider was already negated, he couldn't Widow Anchor to steal my Decider anymore, prompting him to Anchor his own unit. I had nothing against that play, so if he Widow'd his goddess first, then did my Decider, he would've won 100%.

After that turn, I blew all my resources to dodge my dark maid being imperm'd in a really sick 6 chain play, as well as outing his Underworld Goddess (yeah this duel was nuts lmao) using Dragonmaid Tidying. Then I finally got to summon Sheou eventually and went for the game

Raigeki hasn't been good for years now. It can probably go up to 3 without making an impact. In fact, most people will probably consider Torrential Tribute the best field wipe spell/trap in the game, and it's not even used in most decks (still sees use actually, just not very often and in very specific decks)

The problem is that the game has become very turn 1 centric, and Raigeki literally does nothing. TT on the other hand, while it blows up your own board, is at least reactive, meaning it's good to use on turn 1

Created a suicide deck to de-rank faster. Relay Soul summon Giant Kozaky two card instant win combo. (Also, forgot Konami added animations to the alternate win cons. Hope my opponents feel special seeing a big shiny soul gem after I kill myself lol)

Honestly Lightning Storm tends to be much better than Raigeki simply because it's more flexible. But even then Lightning Storm is hard to just toss into decks, because it's a going 2nd card.

Raigeki is one of those cards that can be very impactful if you draw it, but a lot of decks can just float their board into other stuff and if you go first it's just a dead card in hand that doesn't help you extend or usable on your opponents turn to stop their plays.

Searching for specfic spell cards that aren't part of an archetype tends to be difficult so it's not like it's easy to get out of your deck if you do need it.

I replaced Raigeki with Pankratops in all of my deck.

Halq is banned! This is absolutely amazing news. Isnt this a huge hit to Auroradon too? Water Enchantress to 1 is awesome too. You love to see it

I also saw a funny suicide strategy that involves giving your opponent Exodia, but I don't know if I have the draw power for that already crafted and don't feel like spending SR gems. Though the actual combo pieces are cheap so maybe I'll try it budget

They annihilated just about every notable non-extra-deck deck out there (True Dracos, Floowandereeze, Timelords, Monarchs, Pacifis, burn, stun, etc.) plus they neutered OTK strategies like Numeron and 8-Axis even if they still use Synchros or Xyz. On top of that, the insane Synchro boards we saw during the Synchro festival before won't be as common, partly because no Hyper Librarian but also because good luck setting them up within the shorter 300 second duel timer that they carried over from the Duelist Cup.

Whatever. Ultra Athletes still slipped through the cracks because only like 6 people on this planet actually care about them (myself included) so that's what I'm going to play. I could probably still make pure Drytrons work even without Benten if I really wanted to have another option.

Honestly, I don't have a big problem with this. It'll be nice to see some actual decks in the festival instead of people trying to cheese points by using strategies that go against the focus.

I don't think the Red Reboot to 2 will affect much in MD. Red Reboot is better as a side deck card that you swap in if you know your opponent is running traps. Otherwise it's a card that does absolutely nothing into combo decks that set up negate boards without traps.

Prank to 2 is a far bigger deal, because it's a more splashable card to put into the main deck.

Red Reboot is a death sentence to Eldlich and stun in general, though Im not sure if its worth running 2. I feel like without a side deck, generic removal would be more flexible and less likely to brick.

It's hard to say it's worth while to splash in red reboot over other cards in your deck just incase you play against Eldlich. And most Eldlichs I face are rarely pure Eldlich now since Eldlich by itself has trouble winning and needs something to actual provide a wincon.

The 750 UR material cost looks steep at first, but almost all of it is staples. The only UR's in the deck that aren't commonly used in many other decks are Drident, Megaclops (who's a Link monster and wouldn't be usable in the event anyways), and D-Shifter (which you have already if you also play Floowandereeze but can replace with a different handtrap like Ghost Ogre if you want)

Exactly. And I have just enough for Drident and I could cash in some other URs for another veiler if I want. Never bad to get another one.

And I do have the D shifters. Had a long day though and I learned to not rush build decks anymore. I also got a Draco Future from a free pack pull that I could use instead of the Megaclops for this event.

Just Dodgy on combos for Pure Zoo but that shouldnt be a problem
