Ultros got a couple but XII is his first (appearance). It's on the wiki, doesn't seem that was the weird one. Garnet got more attention that year in the write-up, for being a double-lawyering

On Day 86 I get 3 saves in 4 minutes. The bot needs to tell me how to activate that cheat code.

I mean, I've oft been in the first five savers at the top of the day, so I can see why I got there so fast.

...but beating Lefty? Yeah.... no. It does seem to understand my priorities, at least (Tifa - Aerith - Barret - Jessie). Though I'll be trade-saving Faris H1 now so that may throw the bot off from that >_>

• arrival/speed stats were screwed up by the first 10 rounds of double saves, last year I didn't log til the top have so I didn't have that to be concerned about
• attendance stats lmao all this time wasn't actually being used - each emulated day I run through the list of all savers and prune it by a dice roll matched against each user's attendance rate to make a "savers for this round" list... but then I never used that pruned list, I just pulled the round saves from the full saver list still whoops

Ctrl+F'd through my name and I don't see anymore early saves, also lefty is back to beginning (almost) every round (Koala & illumi get to beat him once each)

Characters who aren't playable in their main game: Seph, Seymour, Jessie, Ghido, Emet?, Dad?. Removing the antagonists and Emet (as I don't think XIV has a standard party system), it must be Jessie, Dad, or Ghido. By all accounts Jessie has expanded importance in VIIR. Anyone know how important Dad is in his game? Ghido is actually plot relevant but he doesn't appear very often, I think he's a standout but MZero doesn't even remember him so *shrug*.

Actually I guess Tidus/Seymour we can label as panic in the household, Garnet/Vivi as congrats Vivi, and Ghido/Faris as Andy vs Inviso, the war to end all wars

There would be no panic in this household. It's got just a hair above an absolute zero percent chance of happening, but if X were to face X in another final (this hasn't happened since contest II and lightning doesn't strike twice) I would concede to the other character and vote all ten times for them in the final because Tidus has had his shot already.

This only applies to the non-joke characters and non-champs though, so if Tidus were to face Auron or Lulu, or some crap like O'aka XXIII I would show no mercy. I wouldn't hesitate to give Rikku, Seymour or Yuna 10 votes in the final even though I like Tidus more. I'd probably still give one pity vote to my favorite Final Fantasy character because that's the name of the game, but still that's a net gain of 9.

It doesn't matter though. We're talking about things that are nigh impossible. Hell I don't think two characters from the same game have since faced off in a finals since II despite coming close many times. SFF always gets in the way and one caves in the final 5. Someone else can confirm if I'm right on that or not. You'd think as immensely popular as VI was in raytan's Era, or VII and IX are now that two from one game would duke it out, but such a thing occurring is exceedingly rare.

I think the best chance of X versus X happening again would be Rikku vs. Auron because one has the potential to accumulate a lot of dedicated support if the right cards fall at the right time, and the other has a COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT fanbase mostly made up of casuals that magically carry them to consistently high finishes. I go 10 Rikku, 1 Auron in such a final despite Auron being in my top 5 and Rikku just cracking my top 15.
