Are you surprised Ulti reacted the way he did?

If the answer is no, then that means you realize that Ulti can be provoked and you would understand not to do it.

We aren't surprised because he does things he shouldn't do. Not because what red did was wrong and deserved that reaction. Red was literally being honest and telling Ulti to calm down.

I don't have a problem with Ulti playing mafia. I am lol every time we act like Ulti is reformed though. Ulti is fine as a person to me. He does dumb things from time to time. But, hey, I have a high tolerance level. I can't be shocked Pikachu if others don't tho.

I think you made your own motivations and are acting like a God inside reds head. It literally reads as if he is like oh God I know where this is going, calm down bro. You know how this goes if you don't.

To be clear, I'm not saying that Red's goal was to get Ulti to lash out. I'm saying if Red bothered to think for a moment, he'd believe that Ulti likely would. And if he DID want Ulti to calm down, he'd have said something different.

Ulti said something wrong, and Red wanted to correct him and tell him he had issues in the process.

No. That doesn't resolve anything.

I mean, I was ready to slap down people saying you deserved to be banned from hosting if they said it after game. They certainly said it enough in-game.

I'm not the only one here who wants to drop conflict in these games. It's mostly because conflict is the reason these games suck. And the community can't survive on it.

But part of stopping conflict is by not encouraging it. Every. Single. One of us has the ability to hold our tongue and chill out. Things get heated at times, yes, sure, but we all know how to actually speak if we want people to calm down and relax. The reason I'm trying to drive this point in is that, most all of the time, people involved can handle the situations better. I'm certainly guilty of that myself.

Eh Death Millers are banned for a reason, but I dont know why people went to that assumption before Insane/Random scanning.

Anything I say is intended as helpful criticism. But then again I dont think I ever get mistaken for wanting conflict anyway.

I don't know Ulti's history, and as someone relatively new here, I don't know if it's really my business to talk about this... but reminding somebody that they were banned in the past is mean, especially in an amicable setting like this one where it's especially uncalled for.

Ulti certainly crossed a line with his insult, but Red certainly wasn't helping.

That being said, I agree with Han. Just because we're allowed to say whatever we want doesn't mean we should. There's room for friendly trash talk, and the setup of the recent game certainly did no favors to peoples' frustrations. But it is what it is. Game's over now, and Isquen worked hard to make it happen. Say ggs and move on. Everyone has the ability to speak in friendly terms to one another, so let's do that.

So what happened? Sounds like hosting issues and volatile behaviors. Anyone got a TL:DR?

Red absolutely knew what he was doing.

Ulti should take a couple games off. What he said wasn't cool, but Red absolutely goaded him into it knowing that Ulti wasn't likely to back down

There was a role had a sanity issue that threw things for a loop and Ulti crossed a big line after Red egged him on if I understand it all

Ulti lost partially because of game imbalance which ticked him off. Red won partially because of game imbalance and trash talked ulti. Ulti took it too far and attacked Red personally

To be fair Ulti has always been pretty nice to me as well

I can agree with this. A lifetime ban is silly and anyone who acts like one meltdown (which it was, I wont lie and say otherwise) means its still 2011 is not being genuine at all. Ive been a model citizen on here. People also need to read post 251. Ive asked him personally going back over 15 years to please not bring up mental health in that manner. Its not something he doesnt know about, and most other people I wouldnt have snapped on because most other people dont know whats up. He does and he knows better.

I would like to help cohost and count votes for a bit if thats cool with people. Hosts always need an assist and they always have trouble finding someone. Ill happily do it because I find grunt work kinda fun.

Why is it peer pressure? He can choose whatever he wants. It's like when Sbell made a comment about my fiancee during a game. The host gave me options on how to resolve it including a ban, a modkill, a warning, or nothing. I said let it go, whatever.

Well, she cheated on me many times. The very last time she just got a ton of stimulus checks and an income tax return and dipped.

That time was specifically when she invited me to labor day at her sisters. Never called me to tell me when to come over. At midnight called me drunk as shit and told me in fake Darth Vader voices that she was breaking up with me. I asked for my ring and cell phone I was paying for back. She kept making excuses to not give me the cell phone back. I was adamant to get it. When I did, the guy she met at her sisters labor day party she hooked up with was texting her about their plans to hang out and such that day. I was so furious the blood rushed to my head and I fell at work due to vertigo. Which led to blood cutting off to my ear and my inner ear diagnosis of menieres disease from it (supposedly). Fun times.

i've played a game where there was a mafia recruiter who activated on death but had the recruitment part of their role PM redacted, and a game where mafia had a role that directly contradicted the listed mechanics in the OP (long story but it was a pseudo-resistance type game to save the life of a townie if everyone in it submitted a success, but mafia had a role that could make it so the townie always died even if everyone submitted success)
