I think Discord like everything else is banned in China. My VPN also isnt working because its party conference time so they work extra hard to shut down all the VPNs for a week or so. Sucks to be me I guess.

Allow me to be the one voice of reason. I dont like this idea, because like, how do we...catch scum? Or motivate anyone to be afraid or to protect another player or to do anything? I guess it would have to develop its own meta where we're basically just fake lynching people during the day anyway, which doesnt sound any more fun than the usual format

My strategy in such a game would be that we would basically cast votes before the day is over and lies would be caught by "ok people said they'd lynch this guy but this other guy got lynched why" and "this guy agreed to vote this guy too easily because he knew his vote wouldn't have to go that way"

I do think it would potentially be pointless but there is potential for fun, especially if roles are designed well (imagine a vote tracker who can get the info of who a player voted at night)

Those are good questions!

I think what it comes down to is removing some of the mob element, but still forcing people into a state of paranoia. Anyone could be lynched any day. You don't necessarily know.

It could absolutely fail and suck, but it sounded like a little experiment I'd like to see play out.

And the lynch person dies.

And every 4 hours moves refresh and everyone has the option to either hurt someone -2 or Heal someone +1

Sultan hurts ben

Sultan - 10

Then ben heals himself

Once someone is lynched, day ends. There is still a mafia nightly kill to deal with anyone getting too much health.

feel like the numbers need some fiddling here or 1 one very dedicated person can kill you in 36 hours if no one else decides to heal you

I interpreted as it was like Survivor. You see the vote totals but not who voted for who. That way, you have to figure out who was telling the truth and who wasn't. There would need to be a "vote cop" role that could determine who someone voted for, so someone who had no vote would have to be scum.

But I would think what could work is that scum is not told who town voted out. So if they kill the person with the most votes, they don't get a different kill. They would need to be given a further disadvantage, such as having no powers, to allow town to figure the game out. Because town can't win if scum get two kills every night and town hardly gets any information - it's just blind luck.

Alternatively, there are no night kills, only the vote out, and scum gets one bonus strongman kill but town has almost no powers. This basically amounts to "Survivor with a scum team" and a different win condition.

I don't know. There has to be a way to make it work.
