More likely it was the Hildenburg disaster and the unintentional implication of KFP being nazis (Kiara being Austrian is touchy about that thing for obvious reasons) and preventing the Narukamis from trying to spin that into something a lot more malevolent than I'm sure both Mumei and Kanauru had intended, especially with Kiara having that fire scare hours before the premiere.
