Magni's pretty regular on Scarle's streams in particular, and Regis shows up on Millie's streams chats(and is even a mod on her chat) and it's been nothing but good times with no hostility.

Lol some cringe oshi simp ppl I guess raged about Kronii and else collabing with the Holostar boys. Kronii had to go on a long justified rant about how communicating between the sexes doesn't mean a thing.

She did ask whether or not those trolls fall in love with all of their female friends (if any). Honestly, the answer is probably yes, without them knowing that that's probably not a healthy thing to do in general. I mean it's not outside the realm of possibilities for people who tend to gravitate towards that oshi lifestyle, but yeah liking every girl that gives you a time of day will not only chase them away, but it's also kinda sad.

I think the problem is that people don't realize long lasting attractions tend not to start from a shallow place. These trolls'll be equally mad if somebody told them that they know everything about those trolls from the 2-3 conversations they just had. Unfortunately human beings are far more complex than that, and the girls happen to be human beings behind that screen. Anime characters on the other hand can be figured out within a couple of episodes unless the writing frequently challenges said character. But that being said, it's clear that fiction is fiction, and Vtubers are ran by real people.

I hope this doesn't drive the girls to not want to do mixed gender collabs anymore. Someone always has to ruin things for everyone

It's really sad. You also know for a fact that if the irl actresses are approached by one of their simps, they would not immediately act with intense familiarity. Doesn't really sound like any of the fans have much of a connection with the actresses.

You wouldn't approach a cosplayer playing a character you really like in an anime and act like you know the cosplayer personally either.

I know it comes from a place of loneliness, but I really do hope with enough reasoning, they can at least understand to some extent that that level of attachment is wrong.

I almost exclusively watch NijiEN these days and the only one that causes that is Vox really, and Mysta to a lesser extent(though Mysta mostly causes stuff because he's... him, and just says shit). Vox made mistakes in the community he fostered, which he admitted to, but he's basically stuck with it now. Aside from that, the guys don't get too much and regularly collab with the girls with basically no problems. It's really only Luxiem that gets that. Uki got a bit when he crashed an offline collab. It's super tame compared to Hololive/Holostars though, except for Vox's stuff.

That's because the Niji girls don't really sell the idol aspect whatsoever. They're mostly just regular girls streaming. They have their own oshis though, just way less.

And you'd think the first gen of NijiEN males get less? They all have a massive crazy Chinese fujo fanbase actually. The ones with a lot of subscribers in general, more than half of them are Chinese, as I think it was confirmed. We just don't get to see most of the hate.

Rosemi also attracts a bit of crazies I think, probably a bit more than the other girls, but she doesn't collab much outside the Niji girls in general

Problem with calling it shitposting is that regardless of the intent, it clearly affects the talents. Also there's just no way to tell. The simps are anonymous, and that kinda gives them free reign to be peak cringe whenever they want

based on my fanbase experience (eng speaking fanbases of a few of the holojp members) basically everyone there is happy to see any sort of collab and I don't get the impression there would be much pushback against collabs with guys, with non-vtubers, outside holoive, etc etc. except for that one guy who absolutely hates kiara and says she ruins otherwise good streams if she's one of the members <_<

I'm inclined to guess that the sorts of people who are rude / insulting / aggressive / whatever about this are kind of harder to find in actual community spaces because they are probably sort of insufferable and either don't want to involve themselves or get kicked out

Yeah the problem with haters is that they're incredibly persistent. The talents often notice them because they're just spamming the shit out of how they hated this or that happening, and we also don't even get to see their PM box, which is probably fucking filled with negativity.

Also for Kronii specifically, it wasn't even purely about the hate. She's not for that whole shipping scene that happens as soon as anybody even suggests interacting with somebody

On the subject of haters though: I think it's mostly a twitter thing. I only really use Discord for the fan stuff and swore off Twitter a long time ago. Unless I go looking for it or something huge happens, don't think I ever see it. Some of the fanbases are a little overzealous though. I've more or less quit watching Hololive completely since Rust started because the chat is entirely fucking insufferable though, have no idea how they put it up with it.

The Rust thing was mostly on the EN side cuz ppl can't read. I mostly watched the JP end where there was 0 drama about chat, and most of them just turned on members only anyways.

On another hand, I just don't watch Niji outside Rosemi and Selen nowadays. I just don't really see what they do that's anything special, and it hurts every time they collab with anybody involved in that one leak where they were shittalking their competitors. Not a great look for me.

The discord leak always seemed a little overblown to me, they were basically just talking about how debuts so close together feel like a war of sorts, which for corpo vtubers it probably does. It was pretty tame stuff.

That said the only ones really shit talking were Vox and to some extent Fulgur. I think Vox just lives in a constant state of sarcasm though which is why I don't care to watch him, and Fulgur just seems...like he has very little filter at times, so yeah I can see that. At the end of the day saying "New wave didn't blow up as big as they thought it would, NijiEN doing well, Luxiem pulling lots of cash, blah blah" is pretty tame stuff.

But it never bothered me because I figure that's a thing that likely happens between any sort of competitive work place, especially in an entertainment industry.

Since my work schedule picked up though, I pretty much only watch Selen, Rosemi, and Pomu when I can. Primarily because I was fans of all three pre-Nijisanji. Also Millie when I can because she's just hilarious, but that's kinda rare.

yeah I thought about it a bit more after and realized I'd missed a key component of the whole thing. I stilll don't find it weird at alll to have someone who is a big long-term fan and rarely if ever says anything in chat or comments (also for a bigger streamer it's not at all unreasonable they are saying stuff but you just don't notice it in the noise). but I didn't really consider that the sorts of people who don't say anything most of the time would probably just continue to not say anytthing instead of making angry rants

Second, they keep talking about them as if they're some kind of opposition, and then they'll immediately turn to Twitter and just talk to the Holo people like nothing happened. It comes across as extremely two-faced to me, especially Pomu and Finana. Lastly, we literally only saw a single goddamn page of that channel. Considering the time slot of those chats being in the span of like 1 day, who really knows how much shit they're talking on a daily basis

It's just the kind of negativity I don't like seeing in Vtubing. It's something I watch to unwind and enjoy, not for people to treat it like it's some kind of a hidden war and all oppositions must die.

Council got fucked hard by youtube before debut by getting over 200k subs slashed over a few days. Kronii should be over 1 million subs by now and Mumei should be either over or pushing 1 million.

All that stuff you said right there was legitimately just Fulgur and to an extent Finana that was offensive, and he made his intentions clear that he wants to be the least-subbed NijiEN member and doesn't care about his image generally. Pomu said "it feels like all-out war right now lol." Finana basically just said it's probably because Luxiem and Noctyx are pulling a lot of money/close to JP livers. Shu just talked about how he applied wishing for Holostars EN and being disappointed, Millie said she was glad that Shu was here, and Vox was just being his usual sarcastic self with "hololive in shambles".

I noticed a little snip that didn't get talked about much before that was slightly before this, which was them talking about HoloCouncil's tech issues on debut, don't remember who, and someone--I think it was Millie, just called Shu their secret weapon/tech wizard.

Reading it as like... super-negativity, dunno, it doesn't carry that weight to me. A little competitive yeah. Fulgur def went a bit too hard, though, but it's pretty much... how he is, he said people were gonna be mad with Nijisanji for opening apps so fast again and again too though(which was actually true).

Pretty sure the war thing was mostly about the fans going at each others throats every time a new wave shows up for either end now, which just got worse with Iluna/Holostars(which oddly, those two waves seem kinda close with each other and it's mostly on the fans), not like "we have to exterminate them." But it's open to interpretation. Considering, well, I'll put this in spoilers, it's in regards to Pomu's past life: I think she talked about this once in NijiEN too albeit vaguely, but in her past life she mentioned she tried out for a 'certain idol company' that 'someone she respects greatly works for', got accepted, and chickened out because she didn't think she could actually keep up with them and, at the time, her upcoming medical issues.

It's really up to how you want to interpret it, honestly. Didn't feel hateful to me, or it's the mildest shit-talking in private that I've ever seen.

Edit: And yeah, Council got fucked by Youtube, especially Sana. Sana's sub count basically got Thanos snapped like three times, it was brutal as hell.
