I never went to it when it was called that.
I went when it was Showbiz Pizza Place. They had all the cool blue lasery looking arcade games in the 80s in a dark room.

And that's why there was no joy or terror in papercup's heart.

The pizza sucks and the "arcade" is a kiddie casino under the guise of an arcade, so you ain't missing anything

It was the only place that had Surge at the soda fountain.

You didn't miss much.

I did some computer upgrades at a couple Chuck E Cheeses. They were too cheap to pay someone to come in early or stay late, so they did it in the middle of the day, just before lunch. And the process required taking down their entire computer system including the cash registers for about an hour.

Oddly, I'd never been to a Chuck E. Cheese for about the first 35 years of my life... and then I went twice.

Went with some friends of mine when they brought their kids to one. And then I brought by niece and nephew to one once because my niece really wanted to go.

Both times, I wound up playing "Let's Go Jungle!: Lost on the Island of Spice".

When I was a kid we had Pistol Petes

back then those places were more fun cause theyd have stuff like skeeball and air hockey along with legit arcade games

When I was a kid I had no problem with the animatronics, but I was terrified of the guy in the mouse suit walking around.

At the time, the mouse wore a tuxedo and top-heavy, IIRC.

I hope you can check it out one day.

I went several times as a young kid. It was basically an arcade then, I remember playing a lot of Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. Mario Bros., Buster Brothers, Pac Man, This weird pirate game I can't remember the name of, etc. Yea, they had ball pits and skee-ball, but I rarely went for those.

Once I was 8 years old though, I stopped going in favor of Putt-Putt, and never went back. I highly doubt I would have liked it the way it is today.

I went a little while back for my friend's kids bday and it's barely recognizable from when I was a kid in the 80s. There aren't really any video games, no animatronic band, and seemed kinda small. Growing up, the one I went to was a pretty good sized arcade. Dumped a LOT of tokens into the Ninja Turtles arcade game, and for some reason, the Superman one.

I was a DZ kid.

Yes! Showbiz was way better!

I legit like their pizza a lot. My mom and I used to go their on Mondays after volunteering at a dog shelter.

Which is funny because they bought out Chuck E. Cheese and then converted all of their locations to Chuck E. Cheese's

Went a few times a year until was 8, then the one near us closed. After that a place called Easy Street opened and we went there for a few years until I felt too old for it.

I've never been to a Chuck E. Cheese's either.

Growing up, the themed pizza joint/arcade I had was a place called Space Aliens. The whole place looked like the interior of a space ship. No creepy animatronics, though there were people in big alien gray costumes roaming around...

It was pretty much an irl Pizza Planet. It was awesome.

Me too. It was heaven. They had have rows and rows of arcade machines. Dark room for sure. Emphasis back then was the arcade with minor in ball cages and ticket redemption games.

Then by the time the late 90s came around it switched to heavier Emphasis on ticket redemption and less arcade. By 2000s it really became about the play area and ticket redemption. People today will never understand the showbiz

Used to love going there as a kid even if the pizza tore my stomach up they had king of fighters

I've been a few times, one of my cousins had a birthday party there every year between the ages of 6 and 12. I used to look forward to it all the time just so I could play skee ball. That was my jam.
