Yes. Speeding in a construction zone, no less.

I was going the normal speed limit (dropped from 55 to 45 in the construction zone), construction had been going on for like a week, I just didn't notice that the start of the zone had been moved that day from right after the traffic light to right before it.

Yes. A few times.

I was running late. It was a two lane road and two cars were driving side by side blocking me from passing. The shoulder was wide enough to be another lane, nice smooth pavement. I gunned it and passed on the shoulder. Well, one of those cars was an unmarked car. But it didn't have the spotlights or the big antennas that they typically have. He just had two little red and blue lights mounted in the windshield.

He lit me up, took my paperwork, ran it to verifiy it was legit and I didn't have warrants. When he came back he handed me my paperwork and said "Can you not do that again Mr. Little?" I said "yes sir!" and he told me to get to work but keep it at rhe speed limit.

He let me go because he was a detective, which is why his car wasn't as obvious as a typical unmarked vehicle. Traffic tickets are beneath a detective. That's the only reason he let me go. He didn't want to risk having to show up in court to argue over a ticket.

Another time I was slightly speeding and crossed two lanes instead of going one at a time. He pulled me over, ran my shit, then there was a big accident right there at the end of the on ramp where I had pulled off. He had to go handle that instead of wasting time on a ticket.

A third time that I avoided a ticket was pure luck. He would have nailed me if he could and it would have been a bad one. 118 mph. Car would have been impounded, I would have been arrested and wouldn't be able to afford insurance after that. But that story doesn't really fit the theme of the question so...

I got pulled over in Kansas for traveling in the left lane.

He let me go with a warning since I had out of Midwest plates.

Yeah. Just depends on the area. Those small municipalities where tickets are the source of the town budget you'll get dinged. But state troopers or city cops don't really care and just want you to be safe and let you go.

Being white definitely helps. Also be nice.

I got pulled over twice going to work. I was mean the first time and they were mean back. I was nice then 2nd time and they were nice back.

Ive never technically been pulled over. A cop was standing in a turning lane (dealing with a wreck) and ninjad over to my car when I was stopped at the light. He told me I needed to get my tags and plates up to date, but there was literally no possible way he could have pulled me over.

One other time, I accidentally drove through a checkpoint. I had only been driving for a year or so and the guy wanted my papers. I gave him a massive stack of insurance cards (I have a bad habit of just shoving the new one in the glove box) I was really holding up the line by not being able to find it. He eventually just said, is this basically your parents car that they have insured and they just let you drive it? I said yes and he told me to go home and clean my glove box.

Ive gotten multiple verbal warnings in situations that didnt involve me getting pulled over.

Yeah, but only cuz I flashed my work badge at them, and they're like "oh nevermind, no worries lol" As long as it's nothing serious, I'm usually good for minor stuff like light speeding, rolling stops, going through empty red lights, etc. >_> Though it's still up to the individual officer, and I could still get a ticket if he feels like it and there's nothing I can do about it then

Dunno if it technically counts, but I got pulled over for speeding, got a ticket, and when I went to the courthouse to pay it, found out the policeman never put it in their records so they told I didn't need to pay it.

It was years ago so if they wanted to go after me for that it would've happened already. >_>

Yeah, the one time I've been pulled over. I was in my teens and my tags had been expired for like 6 months. I think he could tell I was clueless about that whole process, and just pointed me to where to get them renewed, and let me go with a warning.

yup. i should have gotten a DUI. i was coming home from a bar and was going 50 in a 35. cop pulled me over and once i saw the lights i just assumed i was going to jail. he asked me where i was headed, i told him "my apartment that's like 1/4 mile away". he said he would follow me home and if i pulled in where i said i was going to, he'd let me go. and he did.

Only once. I was doing 11 over the limit in a company vehicle, and the cop let me go with a warning and wrote 9 over the limit on the warning.

The other 2 times I was pulled over were when I was 18 for a rolling stop. The second one, definitely wasn't a rolling stop, but the officer was parked in a spot (literally in front of my house) waiting to catch as many people as he could. I know it wasn't a rolling stop because I made sure to stop completely after that first ticket.

That first ticket was definitely a rolling stop though and I never argued otherwise. That cop went back to that same spot in front of my house right after he pulled me over. 5 minutes later I saw him pull someone else over....then get back into the spot later.

21 over in a work vehicle

It was a speed trap on a brand new road and the officer had some genuine interest in my work. So we chatted a bit

I also got a ticket for 3 over two states away. Called him a dick after he ticketed me, he was a straight up dweeb
