No, but I also wouldn't play $20 for great tickets to the Super Bowl (unless it was to later scalp them to someone else for huge profit), so my answer doesn't necessarily mean as much as it might seem to.

Eh I mean, I can understand. Possible travel time, and you might be bored if you have to stay the whole game. Maybe if I brought my Switch, then I wouldnt mind the free food in a suite. Other than that, no point in really going if youre not interested in the game

Generally speaking, you'll never have as good a view at the event as you do at home on TV. You're giving up comfort and convenience just to have a worse time, more or less solely so you can say you were there.

Then add in the huge hassle of transportation and potentially having to get a hotel or place to stay since most people aren't going to just travel there, watch the game, and then immediately fly home.

And depending on which stadium you're in, the fact that the game is played in the middle of winter can become an issue, where you're kind of feeling miserable the whole time.

Plus, while most people would say that the experience of being in a crowd tends to increase excitement (the same premise behind music concerts or going to shows), anyone who's particularly antisocial or just dislikes crowds are going to be more put off by all the people around them than they are excited to be part of the group.

There's tons of reasons not to ever want to go to the game, even if tickets were free. Everyone's going to have a different opinion.

Besides the game being boring -- on account of not liking football -- keep in mind that even if everything else was comped, including free transport, it's a probably a lot of traveling and then effort to get in/out. Not to mention that major sports events often end with widescale unrest because you have drunken ne'er-do-wells excitedly taking to the streets.

Agreed with the "you can see it better at home", comment. Pro football is a TV sport. I like football, but I would almost certainly resell any tickets that fell in my lap.

I feel the opposite about soccer and hockey (and to some extent basketball), for the record. They are boring on TV, but they're better in person because you feel the flow of the game in the crowd much better.

The only one-off event I can think of that I would consider paying four digits for is seeing Rammstein - my favourite band - live for the first time and even I think I would cap out at ~$1200 (and, as it turned out, I managed to get a fantastic ticket to see them during their big show at MSG for $300, which actually turned out to be a bit of a steal).

I can't see paying that much for any one-off sporting event or stage performance that might actually happen.

Although the inconvenience of going to events is also a deterrent.
