Opened a position in HAL today.

I bought an INTC leap today for Jan 2023. Up 11% already but today was definitely a day where it was tough to not make money for bulls.

My 5 shares GOOG will now be 100? Good for options, I guess. AMZN needs to split too, but Bezos is against it iirc. Glad I continued to add a bunch of AMD shares on the way down the last 2 weeks.

No idea I have never looked at FB very closely. Looks like they missed earnings and the whole meta thing was in fact a bad idea after all. Idk if it's a larger systemic fear thing because other big tech like APPL, MSFT and GOOG crushed their earnings.

$250 looks like long term support though so it might be a great time to buy in right now.

Google is going to split its stock 20x. This means there will be 20x more individual shares being bought/sold at 1/20 the current share price. The market cap stays the same there's just a lot more shares floating around worth proportionally less.

7/1 is the last day you can buy GOOGL or GOOG stock in order to be eligible for the split, which officially takes place on 7/15. So if you own 1 share of GOOG or GOOGL prior to 7/2, on 7/15 you will then have 20 shares worth 1/20th the price.

As far as what it means, it doesn't mean that much. Usually leading up to a stock split the price tends to go up but not always. The lower share price and higher float should result in more retail investors trading it and it probably will have an effect on the derivatives market (options) because everything gets cheaper.

Tesla did a 5 for 1 split a few years back and the price just continued into the stratosphere after the split.

In one sense I'm upset because it was so satisfying seeing the Google shares I bought in 2013 have so much green beside them. Now theyre taking that away from me
