Damn Spencer and Nadella must have been licking their lips after all of those claims were made against Activision. Makes me wonder if they pulled any strings to get it to really snowball.

Honestly, even if they helped anything along behind the scenes, it would have been selfish service of justice. Maybe chaotic good at worst.

It's going to be fucking bizarre when there's some Xbox show and Crash Bandicoot will be in their little intro montage giving a thumbs up.

Microsoft should bundle Crash N-Sane, CTR and 4 with Series S consoles just to really twist the knife.

The stockholders. Ownership of a company is represented by stock. To buy out a company you need to buy at least 50.1% of the stock in it.

I'm sure if Microsoft was greedy and money hungry they'd stick with the greedy and hungry business model that Activision was already using to make the most successful video game franchise of today.

I remember when people laughed when Phil Spencer said that Playstation and Nintendo aren't really their competition. That Amazon, Google, Apple etc. were.

I think this really shows that. Sony outright isn't going to be able to match this. I don't think Microsoft are even buying this because they care about Playstation that much. This is just as much a move to establish themselves before the big conglomerates start buying up studios to enter the market. Google outright said that the Bethesda purchase scared them away from entering video games seriously. It gives those companies less options to buy their way in.

I think Microsoft would probably prefer Playstation and Nintendo to stick around. They just don't want Tencent, Amazon or Apple entering this turf.

But still losing COD is an absolute massive blow for Playstation here. That is a huge reason people subscribe to Playstation+ and a it's big game they get a 30% cut from every single year and they have potentially lost it.

If Microsoft buys Take Two and Playstation loses GTA there's really not much reason left for Sony to even be in the console business as they are anymore. They'd be left with scraps.

Haven't played WoW in like 10 years. Wonder if they'll end up porting it to Xbox and scrapping the subscription fee now too.

are you talking about how the campaign and multiplayer were released at different times? Because theyre both out now

A normal Halo game also has a lot more modes than basically any of the competition now. It's an issue for lots of franchises that have been around this long. Content wise it's still a full package and has the longest campaign in the series.

I would say MS getting even bigger is bad...

But they'll probably take better care of Activision IPs not named CoD.

Don't go by stuff you "heard", because you're really just kind of talking out of your ass when you do that, brother. Multiplayer was playable before the Campaign. Not the other way around.

I am gonna have to try to get an Xbox at this rate.

They are buying most of the only game companies I play games from!
