They don't care about copies sold anymore, it's all about getting people on Game Pass. These games not going on Sony consoles is just how they help accomplish that goal.

Im excited for this. Hopefully they could fix the shit wrong internally and get on with making Overwatch 2 and actually give it some progression. Overwatch has been stagnant for so damn long now. I stopped played when they introduced role queue and almost never went back

People said the same about Bethesda games. This seems very much about forcing Sony to do what Microsoft wants.

They've forced Sony to come out with a gamepass competitor on PC. Gamepass has cross play and cross buy baked in, so Sony would be dumb to not follow suit.

This is nothing but a positive for the consumer. More options for us, who cares of a multinational corporation like Sony doesn't find it ideal to force people into a hardware solution with a predatory monetization scheme.

and Bill Gates loses that much money every time he goes to the bathroom. I know Bill isn't the head of the company anymore, but apply that same logic to whoever is the head now. Activision was worth roughly 70 billion dollars pre-buyout. Microsoft is worth over 450 billion dollars now.

Hell, Disney would have a hard time coming up with the funding to purchase Sony's entertainment division worth ~37 billion

Unless a SEC filing is made to turn ATVI stock into MSFT stock then nothing.

This is the kind of thing that needs to set off antitrust alarms, but it won't, because antitrust legislation is basically a thing of the past.

The series has a serious quality control issue right now, mostly from pumping out yearly releases and a constant stream of monetized content to the mainline/WarZone that adds more bugs than they can keep up with. If MS decides to slow the whole thing down, maybe a release every 2 years instead of every year, it can help a lot with the game being a buggy mess.

I don't think anyone in the gaming industry has to worry about amazon in the immediate future.

New World has been an absolute clusterfuck. The devs have been receptive to community feedback, which is great, but from a "tribal knowledge" perspetive at amazon, they're not even in the realm of AAA territory. They're still developing on the level of an AA-medium size independent, like a digital extremes or hello games. They'll either years more experience, or a serious talent injection to start developing on the same level of a first party AAA sony, nintendo, or microsoft studio.

Talk about cult style double speak. They say they're bringing the joy and community of gaming to everyone, yet buying up these companies so they can be exclusive to their console.

next Microsoft gonna acquire Take-Two and Sega, mark my words!

Look at it this way.... you block the acquisition... suddenly your name is known for allowing Kotick to continue his bad business practices. Whoever blocks it from happening will have a LOT of negative press put on them. Better to let this one happen, and prevent other ones from happening.

Amazon is going to responsible for bringing Lost Ark to the west so we will see how that turns out

I'm still kind of excited for Diablo 4 tbh.

Sure they spent 61 Billion to acquire Activision Blizzard, but on another note, they have the option to sell Spyro and Crash back to Sony for a cool 10 billion dollars, mitigating some of the cost.

Sony never owned those franchises so they wouldn't be selling them back to Sony.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Rare would do with Crash / Spyro though.

No, but at one point both Crash and Spyro were looked at as Sony mascots. So it might be worth the cost to them.
