Assuming the 100 people surveyed in that study were genuine in their detransitioning, compare that to the estimated 1.4 million transgender people in the US alone and I feel that ColdOne's statement about "many people detransitioning" doesn't hold up mathematically.

this is again where Im very confused. I figured out I was a boy when I found out boys have male parts and girls have female parts and I have male parts. There was no figuring out any more than figuring out I was a human.

i realize people who talk about this are talking about some different definition but I never figured out anything about that because to me it was as simple as sex. The problem is nobody can still explain what a boy is so Im so confused how anybody could figure it out in the first place

If a 5 year old says:

Im cisgender = I can see they are the gender of their sex, so I trust them.

Im transgender = I cannot see you are the gender you claim, since your physical sex is different. I am skeptical

Im gay = I cant see that you are, but I also cant see you are not. I will have to trust you.

Is that simplified enough for you?

They may have even been directly forced to suppress their true selves. If it's all about woke parents, then there should be about 3 trans people worldwide over the age of 10.

LGBT people exist because that is how they were made. Why would they choose to be that way in a bigoted and hateful environment? Why would they choose to struggle with identity and risk family abandonment, abuse, or even death? Who would even be teaching them that?

This is very different from the old right wing moral panic argument that gay people are actively recruiting and can trick straight people into turning gay, I just simply cant explain why or get into right now! You are taking parents at their word that their child wants to transition, and this is based on...the child saying something. You do grasp this, yes? And, for some reason, you're turning this into an integrity issue (which I have not brought up and yet you continue to do so, for some reason) when I have already stated that the issue I take is with taking children at face value. Whether or not she or her parents are lying is immaterial. It is possible to be wrong without being a liar, which you refuse to acknowledge and apparently cannot fathom.
