I think LotM is right and those are the expert crafts (they use artisanal and rare mats right?) and also you should not be doing those for grinding exp/scrips. Expert crafts take forever and are basically only good for crafter rankings which are done with now. You want the second highest ones.

Oh I assumed LtM was talking about doing them for the last step of the ShB Skysteel tools. Yeah, the only reason to do the normal firmament ones now would be to grind out the old achievements (like if you're a crazy person going after the pterodactyl mount).

So what should I be doing just for leveling?

Turning in collectables.

That's costing a lot of dough, thought Ishagard has some cheap and easy way to do it but guess I was mistaken!

Not sure what you were talking about earlier but for leveling in Ishgard Restoration you just turn in the Grade 4 stuff. It is indeed insanely quick, easy and cheap at first, with basically the only effort being crafting gear at certain thresholds to make macros usable. Once you get past 70 it will probably start getting more expensive, but you can offset that by gathering the materials yourself in the Diadem or doing other stuff like Dwarves, collectables, leves, GC turn-ins and custom deliveries.

There aren't level 90 job quests, right?

I'm glad they seem to want to do job quests for the new jobs going forward at least though. I've only done Sage's so far but it was fairly high on terms of the quality of the story compared to the other Job quests.

I enjoyed it.

Might try to finish the main Endwalker plot tomorrow, but I still have a bit to go. Am in the level 88 quests now.

Just met Venat... and shes the previous Azem! We make the questionable decision to tell them about the future, and Emet-Selch doesnt believe it and storms off. Presumably we never meet the current Azem because then she would have to have a canonical appearance (and they cant use yours unless the ascians can come in Lala etc form) but it would be cool!

Im guessing this is the self-consistent version of time travel where they had always met the WoL and its not possible to change the past (or maybe even that our presence led to the events of the past that always had happened).

Now that I've put plenty of time into it, time to give my new RDM opinion.

The big obvious change is improving its dungeon play. New AoE barrier for lowering damage from packs and roomwides. All 3 stages of the finishers providing AoE damage and getting stacks for it from your Melee AoE is an absolute game hanger for comfort ability.

The new Manafication is an ENORMOUS buff. Also let's you get out your full combo right off the bat, aided by the new Acceleration which gets you to offset Mana instantly without even a cast time. Even if Acceleration doesn't provide as much overall mana as it used since only once proc is guaranteed, it's still an overall improvement and flow and reliability, and works out a lot better for lining up with damage buffs. Stacks also prevent overcapping in abilities.

The new Resolution finisher also makes up for the minor Mana loss from Acceleration's change. Visually, one of the nicest looking abilities in the game. The line AoE takes some time getting used too, but once you are it's just a matter of lining up on packs. No effect on different for single target of course.

TLDR, universal improvement to RDM. A lot more engaging than the safe but repetitive play from before. If you don't play RDM, the changes seem very minor, but if you do it's a huge upgrade. Can't think of a single negative to come out of this.

So leveling miner after 80 was pretty fast. Collectables are so good. Leves in the meantime. And bonus Custom Deliveries with Charlemend and Kai Shirr gave a couple of levels too.

Gatherer's were insanely easy to level 90 with just the i500 Scrip gear, no effort.

And Fishing doesn't even count since you just get on the boat anyways.

Finished the fourth dungeon, and wow

So it seems like I was probably right about our visit always having happened, with Hermes' memory wipe closing the plotholes that would result. Hydaelyn, however, would have always known the true cause of the Final Days. Hythlodaeus's comment about the memories returning when they returned to the star would then explain why Fandaniel regains his insanity post-sundering.

Not sure how I feel about Meteion's breakdown and triggering of his insanity; it requires a little more suspension of disbelief than I'd like. I also briefly theorized when she first broke down that she might have met Omega, but it sounds like that wasn't the case and she became nihilistic without the interference of any living entity.

Also it was true before, but now that I have flying... man, the fifth zone is beautiful

I do wish that I could have the dungeon music override the fifth zone's music, though.

Normal music is a bit too idyllic for me even if natural floating elysian continents are very much my aesthetic. The light DnB that is in the dungeon theme, though, which is a huge reason I love Woe that is Madness... I want it.

If Im doing roulettes I just want to get in and out as quick as possible, so give me LotA every time.

You can always queue for those specific raids if you want to do them! Just don't do roulette.

Roulette gives you the shiny materia-givers as a DPS though.

Ivalice raids certain are a combination of the coolest area and boss designs with the worst story in the game (much worse than ARR)! Dels definitely won here if he skipped the cutscenes.

Literally contains a tribute to the worst questline in the entire game in it. Can't even make that shit up.

I thought the Ivalice story was just incredibly word-salad that gave you an excuse to dress up like Tactics classes and call this incarnation of Ramza a useless nerd.

It's good for teaching Bozja dodge mechanics, too, I guess.

Yeah, Ivalice and Bozja are the only pieces of content where I'll recommend just skipping the story and getting into the cool fights.
