So there are no circumstances under which you'd go into someone's house and confront them, especially someone you care about? If the daughter/gf came out with a black eye, it's improper to address it? You seem to imply (correct my me if I'm wrong) that he was only white knighting and produced no positive effect, but we see both the daughter and sister did better for his intervention (she saw that her experience was NOT okay from an outside perspective and sister saw someone outside the family with a rational point of view)

A lot of young folks see the tradeoff of strictness if their education is being paid for by their family. Strict families tend to take care of you until marriage. If you aren't getting anything from your parental strictness then bail.
