I never watched his stuff, the few times I'd heard or seen him by accident was SUPER aggravating at best. Not surprising to hear this though, kinda - wasn't he friends with melody though?

So that nuxtaku and vshojo situation, turns out it's not quite simple. Nux did indeed reach out first, and some people in the vshojo management did indeed say it was ok while several others dissuaded him. He thought that he had some kind of an overall ok and posted the video, which talked about the potential identity of the people doxxing vtubers. It turns out the experts basically warned them not to even publicly mention the fact that there's an investigation, but I guess not all of vshojo knew about this.

I'll be fair to nuxtaku that it was reasonable for him to be in a confusing situation in terms of getting an OK, but I feel like reasonably he should've waited til the situation was over. There's also no excusing whoever was responsible for giving nuxtaku the OK to begin with, and seems the management is on the track of basically throwing nuxtaku under the bus for the entire incident. So yeah both at fault, and seems the only winners here are the scumbags doing the whole doxxing to begin with

Seems some of the vshojo girls have apologized to nuxtaku. Kinda seemed like they were mislead in terms of the entire situation as well. The vshojo management definitely at the core of the fault here

tbqh, i wouldn't be suprised if both sides were gearing up to go "to war", vshojou thought they could steamroll him with their fanbase for making an obvious internet clout video at their expense, saw he was getting more support then they expected and decided to call it quits early rather than let the whole thing get ugly, under the guys of "lol everyone was just misinformed".

I saw one of that nux guy's videos about vtubers a few months ago, and he came off as an arrogant tool that didn't really have anything interesting to say anyways. It was one of the few times I actually took the trouble to tell youtube I don't wanna see this in my feed anymore.

As for Hololive gen 6, I'm not worried at all. I've seen some people saying that it feels lackluster, and that's exactly how I felt about gen 5, especially Nene and Botan, and they ended up being some of my favorite vtubers out there once we got to know them better. Hololive management has shown time and time again that they are extremely proficient at finding people who have the "it" factor.
