Connor is extremely one note and a lot of the environments didn't have the vast climbing sections that the previous games had. When I got to the battle system I pretty much deleted the game after I experienced it. It was just the tutorial but my God It was just so slow and clunky. I was glad they kept the old systems core but it was just unfun. Tales of Phantasia had a fast and fluid combat system. I dont think Ive ever instantly hated a game from the combat system alone. However, by this time AC became the history simulation money machine for Ubisoft, so they promptly abandoned that idea. As for AC3 itself, it doesn't help that you start the game as Haytham and the story is much more interesting. Once you swtich over to Connor you are literally put back into tutorials for stuff you already know. Piss poor game design 101. However, by this time AC became the history simulation money machine for Ubisoft, so they promptly abandoned that idea. As for AC3 itself, it doesn't help that you start the game as Haytham and the story is much more interesting.
