Time for the police to investigate themselves, definitely not anything like them taking time to destroy evidence including logs of her arrest or who was driving the vehicle or anyone who should have checked the vehicle, and then they discover there was no foul play or wrongdoing on police hands.

And just to clarify, I only made that assumption for the sake of my pithy line. "They forgot about her" is legitimately the best possible look for the police in this scenario, and it's still inhumanly awful. There's a non-zero chance there's a much greater malice behind this.

Also its a bit sus that they just forgot her and she couldnt get out. Even if it was locked, no one heard her pounding on the doors to let her out? That lot it was parked in was never used by anyone for over two weeks? Something happened and someone kept it quiet. Perhaps the arresting officers did something that hurt her then just left her there to die on her own so no one would know?

i dont know. Im not gonna believe that someone stole the van, killed her then parked it back there (unless it was someone on the inside) or she just snuck in herself. Or she was just forgotten and just did nothing for that long. This whole set up has foul play written all over it.

There's certianly an argument to be had that it's grossly negligent to leave a vehicle that cannot be opened from the inside unlocked, but that seems to be about as bad as it can get in light of that footage.
