I think everyone who cares has seen the cross-stitch, but I appreciate that you're still thinking about it! It was a lot of work, but fun. Kinda like the YRP run in this!

I'm slowly making my way through a Highway Blossoms cross-stitch now, if anyone else has played the best romance visual novel of all time. I finally watched the first three seasons of Fargo while working on it and I didn't even finish the hair on one girl's head, cross-stitching is slooow

I think the worst thing about getting too invested in this (without intending to) is that I feel so shit when my main dies that I don't want to keep taking part at all, because I think about what would happen if I wind up killing another character and making their main feel awful, and I don't want to do that to anyone. Of course most people wouldn't bother at all but it's an idea that's in my head then and I can't get it out.

This whole contest just feels like a recipe for misery because who's actually gonna be happy in the end, anyone who's actually invested is gonna feel crap at some point and everyone else doesn't care either way. I'm probs overthinking it. Maybe I should just disappear once this thing hits top 20 because it can't be good for me. Or stop altogether >_>

I think smfffc is as miserable as you make it. And I should know, I made it plenty miserable for myself in the past!

For anyone who honestly feels bad about it, it really isn't worth the suffering. I was definitely glad for it this year, though. Most rounds take place while I'm at work (like right now!), and work has sucked so hard lately it was nice to have a distraction.

Maybe that's why I'm so zen about this. Real life has hurt me so badly, smfffc can't compare!

I wish I could just switch it off like that! Hard as it may be to believe, I have gotten better at handling petty things like this. I still get the irrational emotional reactions in the moment but I also get over it faster than I used to. Like tomorrow I won't care and I'll just be embarrassed by this. Though it has felt a bit empty since Ghido died personally. I just wish I could stop having the heightened reactions in the first place >_> Like it's silly that I'm more bothered by this than Roba is when he's single-handedly pushed YRP the whole contest and I only hopped on after all my other mains died.

I guess if there's a bright side... I'm finally on the same team as Martin for once? For a day or two or three.

I'll admit, this mindset only became possible after my favorite character won (yay, Lightning), but these last two years I've just enjoyed being part of fun runs with other people. I didn't nominate Leblanc in, but it was fun getting her a run with Snake and Lea! I wasn't the first one to suggest YRP, Maniac did, but it was a fun idea and I'm glad I was a part of it.

That's why I'm always tossing out run ideas, I'm waiting to see who else might be interested in them. I have no desire to carry Snow (cat) to 40th or whatever on my own, but if two or three other people were there too? Hell yeah! Or Rosa or Aki Ross or whoever.

Next year I'm going to back Cyan at least as far as he needs to get out of bottom ten stats (how far is that anyway, I dunno) but after that I might just look around and see who is left that might be fun to save.

Also I have gotten lucky I know, generally the biggest reason it hits me when mains die is because it always happens when I think they're covered so I don't expect it at all. Like Tidus didn't bother me as much this year because the writing was on the wall, but I thought Ghido was well covered and I thought getting to the finals was well within Yuna's grasp. I can't imagine how badly I'd react if someone I was maining got lawyered out like Jessie or Seymour. Props to those mains for handling it way better than I would have!

My primary desire now: please don't have the final be a Kefka > Agrias curbstomp, people. Please!

Yeah last year definitely. Garnet, Delita and Tifa are all better than their counterparts and that solves things without addressing the Squall vs. Kefka question.

Last year had Squall and Dagger and they alone might make it the best top four ever, I'd need to glance at the Lightning years to confirm
