Depends on the amount. Just a couple hundred thousand, buy a nice house way out in the boonies, invest what's left over well, and hopefully be able to retire.

Powerball, it becomes 'buy a nice house way out in the boonies; set my mom, uncle, and best friends up so they don't have to worry about money for the rest of their lives; do the same for certain co-workers; set up donations to charities; retire'.

Share it with my family. Restore my grandmother's old home. If I were to start a business it would be restoring old homes. They wouldn't have to be mansions, just older homes that need a bit of love to bring back their uniqueness and keep them affordable for people to live in.

Pay off all of my bills, get a few things done that I've put off for years, stuff like that. I'd love to live on Maui, get a newer car and visit places from time to time, but first things first.

I used to work with a guy who'd lived in Mesa. He said it wasn't uncommon for it to hit 115 in the summer. Fuck that.

Last two weeks every day was at least 105. It started to cool down only yesterday. But it was still hot as fuck due to it also being humid.

I'd buy my parents and my siblings a house each. I'd keep the houses in my name to guarantee they don't do anything stupid (or my siblings' spouses don't divorce for money).

I'd continue teaching at my current school except just half time, just to see my current students graduate.

I'd move to Vancouver Island and try to get a half time teaching job.

If that doesn't work for me, I'd live somewhere warm in the USA and do shit all.

Depends on the amount, really.

1 million: Invest at 5% return, enjoy 50k/year for myself, continue life as normal

2 million: Invest at 5% return, enjoy 50k/year each for my girlfriend and I, continue life as normal

5 million: Pay off my mom's mortgage (~400k, if memory serves), buy girlfriend's mom a house (~500-800k, probably less), invest remainder at 5% return, enjoy 50k/year each for myself, my girlfriend, and both sisters (after a short delay to get back up to an even $4 million if the houses dropped me below that)

Anything past that: All of the above, bring the return for my girlfriend and I up to $100k each, give the remainder of that 5% return away to charities.

I don't exactly have expensive tastes, and I'm fine to keep working for now. I'd push for early retirement, of course, but I'm in no great rush, so I'm happy to give away some spare money while I work my way up to that.

Set myself up for early retirement (decent house, invest a little, set amount set aside for living expenses for at least the next 20 years, etc.
Give my immediate family a set amount of money to better their lives. Make it clear they will not be getting more unless it's an emergency.
Get a little world traveling in (Europe, Japan, Africa and Australia are musts).
