Certainly the hardest to seperate spite from actual quality for, though it's not like the gap is all that big.

Heard a lot of bad things about Zestiria as a whole, especially the camera angles. Could the game be salvaged by a Definitive Edition if it ever happens? Or is the damage THAT bad?

No.

The gameplay issues aren't even close to the main problems. That's basically just a bad camera angles and broken higher difficulties.

I can't imagine anything you could do to fix the story other than going back in time. I mean, yeah, the last 1/3 has embarrassing last minute zero budget resolutions to basically every single plot thread left hanging that all takes place in dungeons you already beat, but their presentation being shit is secondary to them just being awful.

Yeah, you'd basically have to rewrite the entire story to "fix" it and at that point it wouldn't even really be the same game anymore.

I thought the anime's story was good! It fell off a bit towards the end there too, though.

From what I watched the anime did help some of it.

The only way to actually fix it in a truly meaningful way is to removes one of the lead characters from the game entirely, though, so I don't think there's any way to to make it happen.

I didn't expect a game to get nom'd I would put below FE Fates, but damn did it deliver.

I nominated this game because everytime I pick it up, it would bore me to death before I eventually quit.

I think the only reason why I would want to grit my teeth and finish it once is so that I can say I beat all the Tales games released in the west.

I was hoping to get more insight on the different phases of the game. Early-game I know because I played it twice before tapping out (and I don't quit on games that easy) but Tales games have different phases. It has its usual mid game lull (lol I can't even imagine if this one has one) and usually a sub par-ish or even sometimes unnecessary final act (I'm looking at you Vesperia).

I think I just either need that jolt to give this game a proper shot one last time or just completely write it off as a waste of time and so far it is leaning heavily towards the latter.
