I honestly don't get why everyone's acting like finding those bodies is some great tragedy. It's been common knowledge pretty much forever (at the very least, since the TRC completed its work in 2015) that kids were abused and killed en masse in the residential schools. Pretty much any survivor that can bring themselves back to the site of their school is able to point out places where kids are buried. The only thing that's changed now is that having it in the news has made it harder to ignore that reality, so everyone that has been ignoring it is prattling on about how it's so horrible and they feel so bad, and will continue to do so until the news gets bored of the issue and they go back to not giving a shit about the natives. Finding bodies at residential schools is not news. The fact that so many are treating it as though it is is just a testament to how wilfully blind Canadians are to our history. --- This is my signature.
