30 y/o Teen Mom and Texas Mother, Casey Garcia posed as her 13 y/o daughter to sneak into the middle school and attend classes for a day claiming she did the stunt to prove that security was POOR..and now she was ARRESTED!!

She was busted for criminal trespassing, tampering with government records and a traffic violation as she was seen walking into the building dressed like her daughter at Garcia-Enriquez Middle School

She says to the camera "Do i look like a 7th grader? No, cool. awesome"

She then appears to say hello to the principal and then walks around the school without teachers noticing as one can even be heard giving her instructions to find a classroom

She then attends a math class and the teacher can be heard calling her by her daughters name, Julie and then she attends gym class and at lunch she takes off her mask to eat

She says "I've been here all day, face to face with teachers" in disbelief. but it wasn't until final period when a teacher noticed she was not Julie and asked who she was and confronted her

In a follow up video she explained why she dd it and said "We need better securit at our schools, this is what i tried to prove, and i don't mean to be curt but i kind of feel like i proved it"

It was a "social experiment" for her after wearing a fake tanner and dying her hair darker to resemble her daughter and memorized her daughter's ID.

She said "I think the deal breaker for me was actually walking in and posing as a seventh grader. I mean i'm no spring chicken but it wasn't hard and i made it to all 7th periods. The teachers were so preoccupied about the students who were online that they weren't paying attention to the students who were there physically.".

She has now racked up thousands of fans with some claiming being in high school and saw people there that weren't supposed to be there and agreed with her

One said "You can hear in your voice and mannerisms you're not a child they just don't care. Something needs ot be fixed"

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said they were notified of the incident on the breach of scurity by an individual associated as a parent with the school and she was released on 7808 bond

She ended her youtube with the message "I spent the day in police custody, but my question remains. Are our children safe in our schools?"

Do you support what she did?

idk, while she didn't get caught until the end of the day raises some alarm bells, her plan required some cooperation.

The point is they can get away with it, not that they look like a kid.

I don't know where I stand on this. I'm a teacher, and I know for damn sure this wouldn't last 5 minutes in my school.

On one hand, it's absolutely screwed up that she was able to go unnoticed like that until nearly the end of the day, indicating that the teachers really don't have much direct contact with their students on a regular day. On the other hand, wearing a mask and having your hood up all day makes it pretty tough to determine who you are, and it's completely understandable for a middle school kid to do that when they're having an emotional day, where honestly it's sometimes best to just give the kid some space (depending greatly on the kid, of course).

Really, this comes down to one of three things for me. Either:
  1. The teachers don't give a shit and have little to no rapport with their students.
  2. The teachers know this kid well enough that they understand a "hood up" day is a "leave me the fuck alone" day.
  3. The teachers are so overworked juggling online and in-person at the same time (seriously what the fuck is that bullshit, my union has told us to say fuck no to that) that they weren't able to give this the attention it needed.
I'm hoping it's a scenario 2 deal.

The problem is that this scheme required the cooperation of somebody who was already a student so, even though it was only possible because of the mask mandates, it would be hard to do the same thing without a cooperating, absent student... although, thanks to masks, it'd be pretty easy for anybody to just sneak into a high school.

So the question then becomes, "what's the potential risk?" Well, if they've got a bag, they can smuggle guns, poison, or even a bomb in there... if the school doesn't have a metal detector. Beyond that, there's only so long they can hypothetically go undiscovered. Again, this scheme largely worked because the mother was replacing her daughter and the daughter's friends were almost certainly in on it. If somebody just killed and tried to replace a random student, the classmates would probably discover it even if the teacher didn't. And if you don't replace anybody, you'd really only have until the first class bell to do anything because then you might get caught in the halls, etc.

True had a set of twins in highschool that thought it was funny to trade classes. One teacher was always able to tell. So im betting this woman wouldnt have made it past him as clearly hes able pick up on the slightest idiosyncrasies

True but security at schools are weak. I remember one where I guy got in with a compound bow. Not a school shooting really. He came to murder I think his father or step father who was a teacher. Really fucked up story. Guy managed to tackle and hold back the kid with a arrow in his head and being stabbed at this point while his class fled the room. He ended up dying.

I can't believe she was allowed to have her hood on in a Texas school. Texas schools usually have pretty strict dress policies. None of the schools I attended allowed the hood to be on at school, and all my schools had pretty relaxed dress codes and other school rules.(my school was had such lax rules that we were even allowed to grind at our school dances)

Yeah, but who really shoots up middle schools anyways? I mean, much like fine wine, the incel rage takes years to build, finally reaching its true edgelord nature around late highschool early adult hood. Middle schoolers are pretty much imps, annoying, mischievous, but ultimately lacking the evil character that you see in the school shooters

There have been high profile middle school mass shootings. And middle schoolers aren't as sweet and innocent as you might believe. Kids will show up to school drunk, some of them bring weapons, teen pregnancies, etc.

My middle school had a shooting. It happened outside of school. And was almost me...

It's been ongoing. That wasn't the article I was looking for. Google only shows recent news instead of old news. The one I was looking for happened like 20 years ago where the kid went to his classroom and shot some students then himself.
