Kirby, are you as concerned about untested meals as you are concerned about untested vaccines? I'd be very afraid of my next 'untested' meal if I were you.

Gary Johnson was the only decent candidate running in 2016, and I gladly voted for him.
And yeah, the Libertarian Party is fucking insane.
Just like Obama telling off the auto companies in Detroit, though, it was an example of a man of principle telling his audience the truth while knowing they didn't want to hear it. It's stuff like that which makes me really respect a politician.

Does that mean that workplaces are similarly responsible for any infections that occur among staff or customers due to not requiring vaccines?
It's not the employers fault if a person gets sick since you can still get ill with covid even after you receive the vaccine.

The vaccine, however, significantly reduces the risk of becoming sick. Taking steps to effect that risk reduction falls well within the bounds of due diligence on the employer's part, especially considering that the risk of a vaccinated person becoming infected is substantially higher if unvaccinated people are around.

Covid is only #9 of the worst epidemics and most of those covid numbers have high levels of error.

You still have people wearing masks while driving their cars or walking alone down the street.

Your can get rid of a phone pretty easily if you wanted, can't do that with an internal tracking device (for the record I think that's stupid as hell that people think there are tracking devices in the vaccine)

Have you seen how crazy people get when they can't find they don't have their phone for 5 minutes????????

You don't need to be doing anything illegal to not want to be spied on. Look at 1984, V for Vendetta, Brave New World, etc. and realize where this leads to. There are real world examples too, like China, Russia, NK, USA, etc.

If you aren't doing anything illegal, you have nothing to worry about.

V for Vendetta and Brave New World are two of my favorite stories, so I know all about what they entail, but the only thing like V for Vendetta is how blind Trump's followers were acting.

This has got to be one of the dumbest things I ever read. What if they are the ones that want to kidnap you? Guess what, you're fucked now.

Yeah, because I'm totally interesting enough for the government to want to kidnap me.

That's nice, but it doesn't really have anything to do with the discussion we were having of whether or not workplaces should be held responsible for putting their employees at risk. I wonder why you changed subjects so abruptly...

It is not fearmongering to say that Covid is more dangerous than the vaccines against it. That is an informed risk analysis based on readily available statistics. It is fearmongering to say that the vaccines are more dangerous than Covid. That's a sensationalist knee-jerk reaction based on nothing but baseless fear.

SunWuKung420 posted...

So you're saying it could even be worse than the 9th-deadliest disease humanity has ever faced? Despite unprecedented measures taken to keep it under control and the fact that we're nowhere close to being done yet (especially with all the vaccine hesitancy that's going to draw out the process)? Wow, that actually sounds incredibly terrible how could you possibly think that shows it's not a big deal.

Error bars go both ways. Lrn2science.

I can almost guarantee you that 90% of the time, that's because they forgot it was there. For walking in particular, it's also a whole lot more reasonable to just wear it all the time than to keep donning and doffing it whenever somebody else shows up on the sidewalk (and wearing it around people outside is reasonable if you're in a higher-risk area and/or an area where distancing is difficult). Regardless, it's hardly something you should be getting upset over.

Jobs that involve working with a lot of customers/clients that are at particularly high risk of becoming seriously ill or dying of influenza? They generally do (nursing home staff, for example). For other jobs, the risk of a serious adverse outcome is relatively low, so it's less necessary (though the argument can still be made).

Yes. Unless you have proof why your exempt. Leaving the country and other forms of travelling shouldn't be allowed without getting a vaccine. I'm all for people making their own choices but that doesn't mean I'd want others to be put at risk.
