The country would lose if we had a real Civil War again. I have no idea why so many people seem to want one to happen.

It depends which side decides to split and who the armies ally with. The actual population is fine and all, but military equipment is a bigger factor. Then you have support from foreign nations. Europe would likely support the establishment side, whereas nations like China, Russia, etc, might try to prop up the separatists because a divided America is less of a threat. (In fact, European nations might privately support the separatists for the same reason.)

It's unlikely anyone in NATO supports separatists in the US. NATO needs the US, the instant NATO looks the slightest bit weak, Russia starts expanding further into it's old satellite states. The baltic states for sure would be annexed like the very next day.

Wouldn't it actually be good for the left if this war happened?

Assuming the left has amazing food and production and all of that, they could get a excuse to exterminate the right entirely and move the country further left to be in line with the other countries, who are all more left than America. Senate, House and now president are all left if the Amazing Politics Board is correct, and the media is also left. Media can just push that all rightwingers are terrorists and traitors to make the government side with them.

The military and police follow the orders of the president, right? Biden is president and listens to the mainstream media. Military and police will definitely be called to deal with the "traitors", if the Capital stuff is a indicator.

They're so obsessed with "the entire world laughing at us" and whatever like the world can't be wrong, it'd be a perfect excuse to "fit in" and follow the ideas of countries who sided with Hitler in WW2.

I guarantee you there would be a lot of defectors from the police/military. Look at the actions taken and inaction in the capitol riots, and all of the alt-right protests. Despite the right being the provokers and first to fire, the police had no qualms siding with them.

Thing is, America had "drones" and stuff and we still lost other wars.

Drones can be shot down or dealt with in other ways. Not to mention that using a drone to attack increases the chance that infrastructure will have to be destroyed to get at people hiding from the drone's sights. The chances are a bit lower with soldiers, who can enter buildings easier than a drone.

Also, in regards to drones... they fly up in the sky, and when in enemy territory, they risk getting shot down. Drone tries to shoot one soldier, another soldier hiding nearby shoots the drone down regardless of whether the drone succeeds. A drone could fly lower to the ground but that's... risky.

A gun beats a fist. Learning hand-to-hand combat but in a civil war with a lot of unprepared people? It would be easier to learn how to use a gun then learn more complex self-defense.

I actually think you can be taught to learn how to fire and handle a gun within a day. Which would be wonderful for a civil war with civilians involved. Self-defense like martial arts and such is more complex and would take more time.

I'd imagine they would actually step in because the other countries are actually left, I saw a chart FROM leftist sources that compared America's left and right. The world's right is more left than the American right, if that makes sense. They'd probably see a great chance to crush a political opposition and inch America as a whole to be more like "the rest of the world" AKA more willing to put stopping hate speech above free speech without seeing the issue and "fit in" with the crowd.

the vast majority of American GDP is in the many major left leaning sub sections of the country so how would they be able to sustain themselves without the major market access that a war would close off, the EU powers, the UK Aussie and NZ plus Japan ain't likely to jump into help the Far Right nutjobs either, maybe Russia and China would help but they ain't able to meet the might of the aforementioned powers.
