And in those 4 days thousands more died from covid. For anyone who thinks theyre going to die from getting a vaccine, do you routinely put all of your money on bets that you have a 0.01% chance of winning?

If we gave a fuck what people's opinions are, then the very concept of a vaccine might as well get thrown in the trash. They require cooperation and adherence.

Nice try, Big Science, but letting diseases have their way with the population is worth my harebrained "opinion"! Now excuse me while I take my daily medications before I post my anti-science rants on the Internet from my computer!

The problem with scientists/experts is that they are all for sale for the highest bidders.
You can't trust any of their statements.
But your gut is so trustworthy, huh? Oh, I bet you go to the "real" experts for the truth? They would never be able to get lies past the scientific rigor of "whether or not they tell me what I want to hear".

0.2% of the entire US population died of COVID19

If that was a mortality rate of any vaccine, antivaxxers would lose their absolute shit.

What morons tend to do is think that vaccination only affects their risk of getting disease. Then they say "it's riskier for me to get a vaccine then to get the disease."

What they don't understand is that getting vaccinated reduces everyone's risk of both disease and mortality. It's not just about you, it's part of your civic duty to help other people. If you have reached a level of selfishness that you can't even get a vaccine to help other people, you should start your own country and live on your own.
is it also my civic duty to get the flu vaccine every year to avoid infecting the very few old people I come across during the year?

Yes. Tens of thousands die yearly in the US to flu and millions are miserable for several days.

Canada is around 2.2. Fucking pathetic.

Not saying we are doing a great job battling this but canadas population is a mere fraction of ours so not really great for comparison. Think in highschool I was taught their population was 1/8th of the united states.

I got the covid vaccine but I dont get the flu shot. Past couple of times I did I got the flu any damn way. Where as without it I cant remember the last time I had it.

That's the nice thing about the covid vaccine. There is 0 chance it will give you covid.

As far as side effects all I got was my arm hurt so bad the pain was comparable to a broken bone and despite nowhere else on me being sweaty and being bare foot my soles wouldnt stop sweating. Dude who gave me the shot said 90% of people end up with side affects but they so greatly vary from person to person he couldnt say what to expect.

So I take it she died for the collective good? RIP

First of all yes if it's the case that would be true. We expect people to take risks all the time for society and take risks all the time for convenience, pleasure or just living.

Even if it was the vaccine the chance of death is absurdly low. Lower then many things she likely did daily or in the recent past. Lower then many things expected of her by society. Several magnitudes lower then the chance of death by covid or even the average flu.

But second it's not proven to be the vaccine and likely wasn't.

If you want to go with statistics instead of biology... if everyone in the USA got the vaccine, a few hundred people at most would die from the vaccine.

If everyone in the USA got Covid, millions would die. Quite a big difference aint it?

"The Flu" is a terrible thing to call it and I wish we would stop even as I am repeatedly guilty of it.

There is no singular flu and there is no vaccine that prevents every single one. The vaccine simply inoculates against several common or expected to be common flus for the season. It's like a good bug trap. It won't work on every type of pest but it's still well worth the effort if it stops or diminishes several of them.

I mispoke. I meant the vaccine itself gave me the damn flu.

I social distance naturally anyways. I go to work and the grocery store. So yeah not doing flu shots every year. This however is a pandemic. That changes things for me.

I would assume our immune systems would eventually adapt to where it became not much worse than the flu if it truly doesnt go away.

Yeah. I was having some massive sinus issues so they ran a full spectrum of things.

Turned out it wasn't allergies at all, and I wasn't even constantly congested like I thought. My septum was diagonal and I literally couldn't breathe out of one side.

I got that test. One site totally flared up but the medical practitioner was gone so long that it died down. My medical plan would not let me get retested. And the marks healed fast. I still wore a long sleeved shirt.
