Literally not true at all. For starters the Supreme acourt has already ruled on the subject, its not illegal. Since there are no actual real children involved it is protected by the first amendment.

Secondly, interviews with actual pedophiles who have been arrested for looking at child porn, and real child porn not fake drawings, have outright said if they hadn't looked at it they would have molested a real child. So claiming that looking at drawings enables them to continue their urges and if we got rid of it those urges would simply dissappear is completely unfounded.

Currently they're incentivized to repress themselves or just hide everything which doesn't really work either. There are some countries that are opening programs that offer free treatment and counseling for them. That said, I was under the impression we're talking about non-offenders. For offenders, most countries automatically have them with mental health support and the US locks them up for a long time.

i dont think mental counseling would help them, because its something they like, hoe do you stop someone from liking something?

Studies on pedophilia are almost entirely done in prison populations. Exception being a dutch program or something.

I'm not really an advocate of arresting people on the basis of their attractions that they can't necessarily help, so long as you know where the line is -- what is appropriate and what isn't, and act accordingly.

When you go to the point of outright being asked if you'll never touch a kid and responding "never say never" I feel like you've crossed that line. Even if he's technically not committed any crime yet, it's still basically an admission that you don't care if you'll commit a crime, and given the severity of the crime in question I feel it's something that warrants monitoring at the very least.

so after some research, pedophilia seems to come from, like i said, the parental wires and the sexuality wires being crossed
this is similar to the phenomenon that causes foot fetishism, since the part of the brain that deals with feet is close to the part of your brain that deals with sexual interest

basically, when humans were designed the brain was thrown together in the weirdest way possible
