It is pretty pathetic. You should be looking for the job market and economy to improve as a whole. People who cry over a 600 dollar check are just looking to use it to buy weed and luxury items for the most part.

but why is it worse to stimulate the economy by giving individuals stimulus payments instead of bailing out banks? which is much more expensive and doesn't stimulate shite.

My Accountant gave me a copy of his book and shine there is some helpful tips in there, theres also a lot of elitist speak like just make double payments on car payments and mortgages. Like thats a simple thing to do if i also didnt need to buy groceries, put money into emergency funds, gas, etc

meh, paying debt ahead of schedule only makes sense if you spend it instead of investing it. or if you debt is 7%+ interest rate

Yeah I know someone who tried to pay for a college degree with nothing but the fear of starvation and the check bounced.

If they want people to stand on their feet, you have at least pick them up first. Standing over them and wagging your finger doesn't print money. Shame doesn't pay the bills.

The point is to stimulate the economy. That's why I was so pissed that the last stimulus was only $600. $600/person won't do shit to the economy. $2,000/person would.

He is right for the wrong reasons. Stimulus checks are basically junk food for kids, they exist to placate the masses but do nothing to stimulate the economy or improve anyone's living situation.

This is where someone chimes in with pandemic and lost jobs.
That's what the expansion of unemployment benefits have been for, which likely should have been done to an even greater degree.

If they really wanted to make a difference and stimulate the economy they would increase the Food Stamp payments and expand eligibility to the program.

I humbly request Mr. Ramsey dine on my entire posterior.

The doublespeak people just willing engage in is hilarious.

A stimulus check is simultaneously for stimulus purposes and for financial relief, and while thats the case arguments against them just fall so short.

If its for stimulus, you want that money in everyones hands and you want them to spend it on anything, as thats what gets the economy going.

If its financial relief, it needs to be more than it is and it STILL needs to go to everyone because wasting time AND money on means testing it results in people getting screwed even harder, necessitating even more of a response to compensate.

People try to argue against it and they swap what these checks are supposed to be on the fly to suit whatever bullshit theyre peddling. Its pathetic.

Why do the poor have more credit now to spend then they did last year? That and I thought banks were being more conservative then ever in regards to its spend, limits and even just insuring cards out.

The stimulus checks dont really stimulate the economy. Even if they did, itd only be for a couple of days. Those who normally do invigorate the economy with their extra spending by going out and buying nicer things...are just going to pocket this money and save. Those who are destitute are just going to spend on necessities. Like groceries, gas, etc.
