Maybe Im missing something. I also went through puberty while closeted. But I barely remember anything being weird. What was it that made it bad?

At the time? Probably one of the most stressful times of my life.

Now, having dealt with numerous adult issues? Not even in the top 10.

I would say the time right after puberty had finished was way worse.

I don't remember it being all that difficult or traumatic or anything, either physically or socially. There was the usual teenage drama of relationships and such, but nowhere near as some people make it out to be. I didn't get a ton of zits, I didn't have any ridiculous voice-breaking or anything.

Whenever people talk about how middle school/high school was the most terrible time of their entire life, I always kind of shake my head. That's about as unrelatable to me as the people who act like high school was the greatest time of their life and they've never done any better since. It wasn't really the best of times or the worst of times for me. It was just times.

Makes sense. Adult problems are way worse. That being said, I guess Im not the norm. The biggest problem I had with puberty was the smell of the locker room... BO and axe...

The best friends and most fun times I ever had were back then. Unfortunately people go their separate ways as they grow up, have their own career/family and move overseas. I guess you have social media now to reconnect and I've seen a few on the internet doing well. I haven't really made any friends as an adult. Work colleagues and hooking up but not real friends.

I have a few hook-ups that became FWBs later. Where we might hang out or play games together, but not many. And havent seen them in years. I am pretty close with some work friends. Me and one guy even buy each other games on steam. And hang out and stuff. And Ive hung out with many of them as friends and stuff...

Unfortunately this popped up in my very late teens and early 20s and never went away. To this day I have to be careful what I put on my skin in case eczema strikes. One of my sisters has the same problem but hers did start at puberty. I also had bad acne in my 20s but very rarely now. But I had flawless skin during puberty except for stretch marks on my back. I used to be short and bony and became tall and bony in a year so that caused stretching. They've really faded away now though.

Menstruation and my entire body changing. Growing breasts, gaining weight, hip widening. It's all pretty difficult on a teenage girl. Plus hormones are going crazy. I had a hard time controlling my emotions.

I heard it never really goes away. But just flairs up sometimes... I havent had to use the cream in a while, though.

Also, I probably wouldnt have minded the stretch marks if I had the height to go with them....

Well, yeah I mean you guys don't have to deal with the pain and messiness of periods. You guys don't have it that difficult. The most difficult thing for men is the embarrassment of their voice cracking it seems like.

That's just a guy who talks to himself. "Reply guy" is like someone who tries to engage with everything even if it's not interesting (on either side of the conversation)

He doesn't multipost on PotD like he does on other boards, thankfully.

I had a pretty fast puberty. I didn't have the voice issues that other had. I did have really bad acne though. Had to take the accutane, but one of the side effects was extreme depression, so I was pretty emo for awhile on that until I eventually stopped taking it. They don't even produce that anymore because kids were committing suicide because of it, although it did wonders for the acne, I had a really hard time controlling it with the topical ointments

I remember at one point when I was like 9 years old I told my aunt that whenever I got out of the shower my wiener would get all rubbery, she had a good laugh and promptly told my friends at the first opportunity

I did a lot of silly things like try to sit behind certain classmates so I can stare at their butts all day. The boys locker room was a blessing and curse for someone in the closet. But I was always frustrated since I didn't do anything sexual until my 20s whereas most of my straight friends were hooking up before graduating.
