Texted me this.

Im a 1 in 1,000 case where the egg that made the baby had none of my chromosomes but had double yours. So two sperm fertilized one egg. The pregnancy formed completely wrong and formed into precancerous cells.

So I have to go back for blood work weekly to make sure I dont have cancer. If I do, I have to get chemo or hysterectomy

not sure what we did to piss off the universe, but FUCK

Dont blame yourself for something completely out of control. Its the same way women blame themselves for miscarriage when they shouldnt. Nature does some horrible things sometimes but its nothing we can do to prevent it.

Do not blame yourself for this. There's no way you could have known this could or even would happen. It sucks that this happened and you both have my condolences but it's not your fault. That is a dark road you do not want to go down.

Even if its benign it can still turn into cancer.
They told me 2 years ago the quaglated (sp?) blood in my chest was benign. then a year later they told me that its cancerous because some of the cells in it can mutate into cancer.

So TC even if they tell her she's fine and that its benign, MAKE HER GO TO FOLLOW UP / CHECK UPS AFTERWARDS. Cause like my cancer Dr told me, 85% of people that are told they are fine usually don't end up going to the follow up appointment because they are told they're fine they more than likely won't go to the follow up.

Holy shit, TC. I am so sorry. Ill have fingers and toes crossed for the both of you.

This is one of those weird, completely random situations that is absolutely nobodys fault. Neither of you could have foreseen or even imagined that this happening.

As someone whos lost a child before, and that relationship along with it shortly afterward, the worst thing you can do right now is think about fault. Its a tall order, but you owe it to yourself and your significant other to put that out of your mind, and to chin up as best as possible so you can both support each other as best you can.

Dont let unchecked feelings and negative thoughts fester, seek help if you feel overwhelmed.

Not sure if it helps but if you want to research it, its called a molar pregnancy and is more common than wed think. I had heard that term a lot on infertility forums I lurked on Reddit. Didnt associate it right away. It seems that the chances for cancer are low but still worrisome there are any chances at all. It seems like the earlier they catch it the better.
