Even fallout 76 wasn't this bad. It was technically playable. Terrible server status and there wasn't any content except killing monsters. But that much was playable without too many issues.

not bad enough to get delisted

I think removing it from the store is a bit harsh. I'm playing on PS4 Pro and while it is a buggy game I certainly don't think it's unplayable at all.

And they didn't really start development til after Witcher 3 and its expansions. Plus shit can change over time. They should have realized the last gen versions were a mess and canceled them.

Delisting a game after millions have bought it feels a bit like Sony is having it both ways. The refunds are good, though.

That's because that's what it is. Sony knows most people won't bother with the refund process and they get to look like the good guys caring about customers. Win/Win.

Most games are a mess until they're not. Which is why delays happen. They believe they can fix the game. So it'll be interesting to see if they do.

Maybe even make it PC exclusive until further down the road.

Honestly PC version is still rough too. It just has the benefit of brute forcing performance.

People often whine about delays when they are announced but nobody cares about them if the game launches with no issues. How many people still whine about the delays for Breath of the Wild, God of War, Uncharted 4. etc?

Cyberpunk 2077's launch will always be remembered.

CD Projekt Red is happy with how Cyberpunk 2077 performs now on PS4 and Xbox One.

When Cyberpunk 2077 was pushed back to December, developer CD Projekt Red suggested that the team needed more time to bring the PS4 and Xbox One versions in line with other platforms.
Having recently shown gameplay running on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, the developer is now seemingly happy with how it runs.

During the most recent conference call for CD Projekt, where the developer-publisher promised (again) not to delay the game any further, company executives were asked directly about Cyberpunk 2077s current state on the base consoles.
Company president and joint-CEO, Adam Kicinski, fielded one such question.
Of course, [the performance is] a bit lower than on pros, but surprisingly good, I would say, for such a huge world, Kicinski revealed. So, bit lower, but very good. Thats the answer.
Kicinski later added that the three-week delay helped the team achieve a lot with regards to performance on current-gen consoles.

Yesterday we released the gameplay both on PS4 and PS5. So, you can see the difference, he added.
And on both I mean, PS5 is great. PS4 is still very good. I mean, we had those extra three weeks and we achieved a lot by within this final stretch. So, we believe that the game is performing great on every platform. Of course, accordingly to platform capabilities, but not every platform should be great.

Both next-gen consoles run it pretty much locked at 60 frames per second. The bigger issue for them is how the game itself clearly doesn't utilize the graphics those consoles are capable of.

With that said, on series X you get 1080p locked at 60 frames per second or 4K at 30 frames per second, and on PS5 you get something like 1200p at 60 frames per second. 1080p va 1200p seems kind of moot so I would say merely having a 4K option makes the Xbox version better

They responded to this by basically saying they deceived people as to how the game would run on those consoles and offered refunds to anyone who wants one, which has prompted sony to say they don't even want to bother with it for the time being

What is then? At least NMS was playable. While buggy as all shit, FO76 was playable. So what is worse than a game that literally cannot run at a consistently playable state on the console it officially released for? I agree. And let's be honest here - with as many visual cuts as the last-gen console versions have, there really is no excuse for those versions NOT to run at 60fps on PS5/XSX.

i have the One X version & I am trying to get a refund now. frame rate + glitches aren't great on the one x but they are mostly tolerable, however what i cant handle is how unfinished just about everything in the game feels. doesnt even feel like early access, more like i stopped by the studio to check out a game they are planning to release in a year or something

The game still has many, many issues even on pc. Not as bad as consoles, but still bad. Angry Joe has made no less than 4 videos about the pc version being fucked so far, and is disappointed as hell because of it.

Angry Joe is a whiny bitch. I've had engine glitches with ragdoll physics, but nothing that actively ruined my experience with the game.

That said, it feels like the backlash against Cyberpunk 2077 is inproportional to the issues with the game. Like, people are actively rooting for the studio's destruction. It's insane.

As a PC gamer I disagree with this.

FO76 was "playable" but pretty broken and a bigger issue there was that Bethesda was screwing up all the special edition bonus items and the rum and everything. NMS' issue was that it was like an alpha where the universe was complete but missing many features and mechanics.

CP2077 is 100% playable. It's glitchy as hell but the glitches by and large aren't gamebreaking and the ones that are are usually resolved through a simple save + reload.

I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on my laptop and it's been totally fine. Not any buggier than Skyrim for sure.

But fundamentally it's kind of a mediocre game.

The people in charge absolutely deserve to be raked over the coals for all this. All the random low(er)-level developers do not.

Also apparently CDP and Microsoft aren't discussing delisting the game.

I have a feeling Microsoft will do absolutely nothing because of how much money they spent to get exclusive marketing rights for the game. People are saying their refund requests are still being denied.

It's a "thing" all the time! Microsoft has exclusive marketing rights for most of Ubisoft's games as well.

Eh no. They did the same with RDR2. Commercials and the RDR2/PS4 Pro bundle.

NMS they were a lot more involved than simply paying for exclusive marketing. They pretty much funded a lot of the development, turned it into a full-price release, and had console exclusivity for nearly 2 years.

If you play it on PS5 you're just playing the PS4 Pro version.
