2. British Accent Bias - People with a soft british voice have +15 IQ and instant credibility on any topic they decide to talk about.This works on any American even when we're aware of it. That's some bullshit.

Hand-Built Dirt Mansions - This has got to be the bullshittiest bullshit the bull ever shit, a painfully suburban fantasy that a single magical bushman would be able to dig an underground swimming pool in a month with naught but his iron hands and deep connection to mother earth. They are pretty cool though

How autoplay will keep suggestings a handful of the same videos all of which I've already watched recently.

How dense adverts can be on videos by default. Sometimes getting two ads every 3-5 minutes when I watch on my work computer.

The fact that, if you need help on a bit of a game (and there are no text guides so you have to resort to a video walkthrough, utter shite though they all are) and watch one clip, YouTube will decide that you obviously want it to plaster your recommendations with all the cutscenes, with the most spoilery thumbnails and titles possible.

Also, there's no way to tell it "I will never, ever want to watch a reaction video, so stop recommending them all the sodding time."

React videos: Sorry, but make your own fucking content. Even playing a game for an LP requires some actual effort.

People stealing content or making playlists of established content creators: So easy to fuck people over and get money from it.

No discoverability/SERIOUSLY ridiculous monetization minimum requirements: I'm sure it's easy to game the system on Twitch, but jesus. There's like no goddamn way to get to that 1000 subscriber plateau from absolute zero these days. Then again, it's not like CPM is worth anything even if you get that lucky.

This so hard. I had Last of Us 2 ruined for me from this and I'm still not fucking over it. I played Last of Us 1 earlier this year for the first time and loved it, so I was so excited for this game. Never even picked it up after having the biggest spoiler revealed to me.

Also react videos are just stupidly popular, so blame the masses for that and not YouTube. All my favorite gaming podcasts like Easy Allies and MinnMax have talked about how of all their original content that takes an insane amount of work, it's the reaction videos that inevitably get 10x+ the views of their regular stuff.

E: Actually, I just realized I had Last of Us 2 ruined for me BY A REACTION VIDEO. I literally just looked up The Last of Us 2 reviews or something and one of the first suggested videos was "Angry Joe Reacts to [MASSIVE SPOILERS REDACTED]"

Fuck the piece of shit that uploaded that video (it wasn't Angry Joe himself).

I hate that recently Youtube only ever recommends the exact same videos. Just end up having to scroll down more and more each time because 90% of everything it recommends once will just sit there forever no matter how many times I don't watch it

some reaction videos do take some effort. some singers/vocal coaches point out technical things that are actually interesting in their reaction videos.

the ones where it's just a dude sitting there silently watching a trailer are terrible, though, yeah.
