So I've been having issues sleeping as of late and once again I found myself waking up at 1:30 am wide awake, woke up hungry as well. I get up and decide I don't feel like making anything.. decided you know what I'll order some grub on the mobile app from Tbell and go pick it up (they are open till 3am) I do one of those stacker $5 boxes with a large baja blast and value menu burrito, I place the order and pay it takes my money and tells me its ok to go pick it up "see you at the drivethru" . I get dressed hop in the car and drive all the way over and as I'm pulling in I'm thinking it looks darker than normal but there is cars there. I pull up to the speaker and no on says anything to me I wait a full minute say hello, no response. I finally pull up to the window and get them to come over unlock

TBell Employee: "We are closed."

Me: "You guys are supposed to be open till 3am and I placed a mobile order"

TBell Employee2: "We have no closer tonight and this guy *points to tbell employee 1* can't be here past 3am so we had to close early"

Me: "Ok, but I placed a mobile order it went all the way through and I was charged, you guys took my money, I either need my food OR i need my money back."

Tbell Employee2: "Well we already closed the register, just come back later"

Me: "Come back later? What later? This is bullshit. I have to work later, so I what come back at 5:30pm and argue with a completely different crew and hope they give me my money back? My order was placed and you charged me if you were closing early you should have shut your damn mobile app off!"

*they both stare at me for a few moments* TBell2 walks off.

TBell Employee1: "How much was your order do you have like apple pay or something I'll just pay you back myself it was my fault we are closing anyways"

Me: "I don't have anything like that"

TBell Employee1: "I'm sorry about this happening"

Me: "Look I understand shit happens but you guys need to shut down the mobile ordering if you decide to close early, I wish it would have told me before I PAID and drove all the way the hell down here."

TBell Employee2 unlocks and opens the register gives me my money back and a complementary baja blast that I ordered as the fountain machine is still on.

Strange how if it was an online order that you paid for when ordering they couldnt just refund you easily that way.

Sometimes the stores don't have access to the online department like that. They get the order and the payment, but can't actually do anything about refunding money because it's a separate system.

Thanks to the designation of "the Karen", I constantly question if I should take things up with the management over my own dissatisfaction or just learn to eat it.

Like I wanted compensation from Best Buy for delaying a release date delivery for their own ineptitude. There's nothing wrong with UPS, they're well-oiled even in these troubled times, but Best Buy simply didn't GIVE them my package to actually ship when they were supposed to. They just sat on it and it ended up five days out of sync.

So I wanted to complain to them (I'm already having issues with their company as a whole so I probably won't be shopping there anymore).

That doesn't sound overly Karenly. You might have been a bit cranky in the way you went about it, but you were justified in being upset and were pretty reasonable as far as your demands for a solution went. All you wanted was the food you paid for or a refund, not any special treatment because something went slightly awry.

I have had my moments with some sale associates. I always feel guilty afterwards and would call back to apology. Within my own job, I am bound to my company's policies when it comes to dealing with our clients and is something I need to remind myself when I am the customer and dealing with other sale associates.

This is the kind of reason that orders should be made via credit card, and then handled this entirely through your credit card carrier by initiating a charge-back.
