i guess technically it would fall in my top 1000 since I don't think i've played over 1000 games. it's a shitty ass game tho and it was bad when it came out too. i will always fight the good fight against skyrim

MAYBE number 10. Skyrim was good and all, but Oblivion had the better story and quests.

Top 50 probably. Not as good as Morrowind or Oblivion. The guilds didn't do it for me in Skyrim

I'll never play that boring ass vanilla open world garbage ass game.

note: this is just my personal opinion, I do not think it is a horrible game, but this is just my unfiltered personal feelings about it for me specifically

eh.

I remember pirating it when it first came out in college at it was dope. But honestly, the fact that you can just spam craft daggers to get to the end game equips makes the game really boring

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't every bethesda game have some easy way to immediately make yourself insanely overpowered at the beginning?

I remember doing something with magic in Morrowind that broke the game right after getting off the boat.

Yeah but that wasnt necessarily intentional in Morrowind, it was just exploiting the way the game calculated skill level.

In Skyrim they just had a stupid MMO crafting mechanic that was half baked so you could spam the cheapest item to get the best ones. It was mind numbingly dull and they did eventually patch it

Yeah I don't really like their leveling system, but at least in their FO games you can't typically power grind in such a boring way

like, idk how hard would it be to have a weighted function which gives less experience the more you do the same thing. if you're just crafting 10000 daggers you should stop gaining any exp after say 10 of them

This. I get why people love the world, but the actual gameplay is fucking bad. Weightless and clunky. Thats a dealbreaker for me.

I liked it but like every open world game this gen its eyes were too big for its stomach

A huge world is pretty meaningless when the majority of characters just repeat the same 2 lines over and over and every dungeon and building uses 90% of the same assets

Give me a game that has a world 4x smaller than skyrim but 4x deeper

Agreed. Ive gotten through very, very few of these look how MASSIVE! open world games, and the only one Ive really enjoyed is Breath of the Wild, because the world was varied enough and the moment to moment gameplay was really interesting with how many ways you had to skin the proverbial cat with any given problem. They mostly avoided repetitive NPCs by making towns few and far between with most of your gameplay being driven by isolation and wanderlust.

Everything else, I prefer Arkham-sized. Big, but definitely attainable to see everything and the majority of things to see are interesting. God of War was a great example.

I've probably put more hours into Skyrim than any other game, but I think it would probably fall somewhere in the top 20. There are just too many mods necessary to make it good, and even then there's still room for improvement.
