Part of the reason that I have my current job is convenience. I make a very average salary. I can get a different job here making comparable money.

Hell I'm trying to relocate with my current job as is. I want to live somewhere warmer and my company operates all over NA, granted I'm not allowed in the US, but there are warmer places in Canada than Edmonton.

None of those would explain why a Canadian liquor corporation named after and owned by the province would relocate to the US. Would we simply stop selling alcohol in our own province? That makes no sense, like if the Georgia Lottery Corporation relocated to Surrey, British Columbia.

In my store, the four days before we closed doors to the public beat the whole week of sales during Christmas by 10%, our busiest time of year. We had a big dip when we first shifted to online ordering but it picked up a bunch after a few weeks and we've been back to generally meeting/beating budget since we opened back up last month.

Taxes? We're owned by the government and are the second highest source of income for the province. We literally are the taxes.

Again, as we're owned by the government in a monopoly and liquor companies pay us to market their products for them, I don't see how marketing fallout would even be a thing.

Liquor in the States is privatized and our prices are much higher than anywhere south of the border. I can't imagine what business venture would make any sense for us to do that.

We just got a new CEO as COVID hit us in March. Regardless, a CEO wouldn't have the power to relocate us as there is still a board above him.

I get this is a hypothetical so I answered as such, but there aren't many possible ways my job could relocate to AZ. Maybe if some a company bought it from the province for billions and the head office was based there with some stores opening in the area, but we're unionized so I couldn't be forced anyways. It would essentially mean the corporation I work for would dissolve and a new one would be created.

No, I own my home and land. It wouldn't make sense for me to sell what I worked hard to get and go somewhere else.

Oh, I'm not surprised at all. I know a bunch of people who loved AZ when they visited. But moving permanently is vastly different than a vacation or winter home. Besides, I'm a fairly left leaning person who abhors Trump and disagrees with a lot of federal policies, so a red state wouldn't be a fit for me at all
