started in march. i do 16:8, where its 16 hours fasting, 8 hours eating. so basically i dont eat until 12pm and stop eating at 8pm.

Adding even a bit of muscle can jump start your metabolism.

i do exercise in the morning. i run on a treadmil for 30 minute and then i do some strength stuff with my kettle bell. maybe i should get a heavier kettle bell...

Or even just some workouts where you use your own body weight can be beneficial. Push-ups, sit-ups, squats (you can do this while holding the kettle bell), leg raises, wall sits, planks... stuff like that.

Regardless, congrats on the results, I hope it continues!

really when i started

for about 2 years the most i could lose was like 10 or so pounds and then id stay there for months. i was counting my calories and cutting them but it just wasn't working, even when i was exercising

so i said fuck it i need to do something new and 2 weeks into it i had lost 5 pounds, and it just kept going down and down and down

It's great that you lost 50 pounds but I don't think it's the IF that did it, it's your calorie counting that did it in my eyes. If you have the restraint to eat only 1300 calories a day, IF feels pointless.

i was eating that before and i wasn't losing weight. i dunno what to tell you.

and i find this helps me more in my meal planning. before i liked to eat every 3 hours, so id wake up and eat at 6, 9, 12, 3, 6 and 9pm. so if im eating 1250 calories, thats roughly 200 calories a meal which fucking sucks man. i would never feel satisfied and it led to binging a lot.

but now that ive cut out 2 meals, thats 300 calories a meal. most days, i cut out another meal so i eat 3 times a day so each meal is bigger.

a lot of times ill order a big burrito, eat it at 12pm, stay full until 8, and have a small late night snack and still be under 1250.

i thought that too, that the numbers are all that matters, so i was reluctant to start IF, but the results speak for themselves really

Weird, I didn't do IF, but I just counted calories and exercises and I shed pounds like crazy. In fact I reached a point that all I did was just exercise more intentionally so I could eat more. I'd burn 2000 calories in a workout after running for 3 hours? It'd mean I could eat 1500+2000 calories and still lose weight. Granted when I did try to pig out I could only manage 2500 at most maybe 3000 if I was super starved. Went from 250 to 150 easily just following that logic. If I didn't exercise I'd only eat 1500 and that felt shitty, sometimes overeat to 2000-2500 because overall I'd make up for it by burning plenty of calories the next day. Lost weight pretty fast, every 2-3 weeks I'd go down another belt notch.

At no point did I really feel like I changed my diet, just kept track of what I was eating using myfitnesspal to see if I had to exercise more. Helps if you actually like exercising though. Reached a point now where I don't care about weight loss, I just want to get faster at running and cycling.

Gonna be a pain in the ass to get a heavier kettle bell right now. I've been trying to move up to a heavier set of dumbells and they're wanting upwards to three times the usual price.

yeah our treadmill broke last month and had to buy a new one and everything was out of stock or just... horrible. none of the usual brands were available and it was a miracle we got the new one we did.

I've been doing 40 hours fasts (supposed to be 36 but 40 is more manageable) and I've lost about 17 lbs in a month. It's pretty damn easy after the first week.

yeah in 2017 i managed to gain like 100 pounds or something. well 2016-2017. by 2018 i was 280. i dunno how (remembers all the times i ate out at Wing Stop, ordering take out every other night, and drinking 2 bottles of wine every night)
