Nope, but I don't have any, so it's not something I've gotta worry about.

If I had kids, would I enroll them in preschool/K-12 in the Fall, if there were no outside factors or no other reason to not be at school, like a pandemic? Sure.

Yes, because there is a competent government where I live and, not coincidentally, there hasn't been a new Coronavirus case in nearly a month here.

Well you don't really have many options. It's either that or home school, which isn't feasible for a lot of people.

If I had kids I would have gotten the hell out of the US along time ago, so would be somewhere right now where it is safe for them to go to school, so yes.

Would I let them in the US?

I wouldn't even let them without the virus, I would either home school, and have a selection of other (hand picked) parents/kids who interact with each other for sports etc, or I would find a good private school and do a job that gave me the freedom to volunteer there along with other parents who do the same to make sure the kids are treated right and get a good education.

I taught in the public school system and at least in CA they are so worried about treating every kid the same that you have 3+ special needs kids in every class. This is a HORRIBLE example of how to act to the other kids, and it shows in how many of them start to behave.

In addition the huge overcrowding means that most students are either behind and can't get help, or ahead and seriously bored. The teachers do not have time to work with them individually, and my kids would be well ahead of the norm, so bored to freaking tears. I wouldn't do that to them. When I taught I always had word searches, logic problems and other assignments etc for the kids who were ahead and finished early to do, sadly that is very rare.

So my answer is YES for most of the world and NO FREAKING WAY for the US.

My sister isn't wanting to send the kids back to school mostly but she says it will be nice for my Nephew to see his friends. I'd send them back to school myself.

o.0 I don't understand why you wouldn't.

You know barring the kids having some kind of immune deficiency problem.

We are keeping ours home. I am just glad I no longer teach. This year is going to be nuts.

This summer I was going to move to Forks Washington (buy a mobile home there) and then start teaching this fall.

Yeah, that obviously isn't happening lol.

My eyesight is getting worse every year though, so if I didn't start soon, I figured I would not get another chance. I might still be able to next year, but that is about it...so it really saddens me that I missed this opportunity:(

During this skyrocketing pandemic? Hell no. I'm in the part of the US where cases are dwindling, and I still think it's an unnecessary risk to everything exploding again.

By the time September rolls around, I'll be back in Nova Scotia, where things are mostly under control. They were down to 0 cases for a couple weeks, but then an American travelling on a student visa failed to isolate properly and triggered a couple new clusters that have since been tracked down. Based on how it's been going, I'd expect them to get back to 0 by September, in which case there's really nothing to worry about and I'd be okay with kids going back to school. If that doesn't get under control, though, or similar incidents in the future cause a resurgence in cases, I'd be more reluctant.

If I were still going to be in Ontario in the fall? Nope. It has generally not been well-contained here, mostly due to the sheer population density of Toronto and the surrounding area, and as such I expect that reopening schools would result in that getting worse (I don't actually know what the plan is right now). That's just not a problem I'd want to contribute to. Maybe by October or November, if things go well until then, but not September.
