It is a fundamentally unsafe place to be for extended periods of time. Outside of deliberate murder by car that has happened a few times, the chance of being accidentally run down in a park is pretty much nill. That doesn't mean this isn't homicidal negligence. He was picking up speed as he went along. He fled the scene of the crime. Plus, the road was officially closed. I dont give a damn if they were having a BBQ in the middle of the intersection.
