I'm fairly active or at least was pretty active in my local smash scene. There is some older guys there but also some younger guys as well. I'm 29 but I just went there to play and that's about it. I think a big problem is that the smash scene does attract some weird people, I've seen people unironically wear those hentai hoodies at locals, and when you combine that with little to no supervision it gets weird.
