They took away the weapon-wheel from BioShock 1 and 2 and left you with having to choose between weapons more often. Vigors weren't as interesting to me as plasmids, though the Vigor combos were definitely cool to work with. The removal of real choice in the game, not even having the Big Daddy/Little Sister dynamic, also hurt it imo. I'm not saying that Infinite is a bad game. It's a really good game. It just doesn't really feel like a BioShock to me until Burial at Sea returns to Rapture. Infinite is just worse in every way (except graphics and character interaction) than the first two. In gameplay Infinite had 2 weapon corridor gameplay and took away saves, health packs on person, meaningful choices, hacking, randomized gear compared to the tonics you can plan out, and vigors that are nowhere near as fun as plasmids. The story begins with high potential even after it gets into ~~alternate dimensions and timelines which are always hard for stories to do right~~ but then it quickly forgets all the conflicts it originally has in favor of ~~focusing on Booker's relationship with Elizabeth~~ and then cops out and just throws it all away unresolved so they could have a ~~the whole game never happened~~ ending (~~which Burial at Sea then retcons anyway~~.) It also has the "universe revolves around the protaganist" mentality such that Booker's coin flips are somehow ~~always the same~~ yet an entire man's ~~wife and life circumstances~~ can be changed with no problem.
