Do you think these officers deserve a $500 bonus?

Dailymail has learned that EVERY Atlanta Police Officer will be given a $500 BONUS just one day after several police officers WALKED OFF the jobs to protest over murder charges on Garrett Rolfe!!

The Atlanta Police Foundation gave out in total 2 million after giving out the bonuses

No city funds will be used to pay out these bonuses instead it came from the money the foundation raised

Dave Wilkinson of the Atlanta Police Foundation said "We felt like it was important at this time because the morale is at the level, there is the rumours of other officers leaving and we just do not want to lose good police oficers"

These bonuses were a thank you for those putting in the long hours put in by other officers in the last 3 months

They will also put in funds on purchasing 20 new police cars that were destroyed during the protests.

Intermin Chief, Rodney Bryant confirmed that officers were calling in sick as some were angry, some were fearful and some were confused and some feel abandoned bt they assure the public that they had sufficient officers to patrol the city

Do you think these officers deserve a bonus?

Wow, Atlanta has 4000 cops? That seems like a lot but I don't know how big Atlanta is

Brooks's shooting was 100% justified. You can't shoot a taser at a cop and not expect greater force to take you down.

The cop should get his murder charge dropped.

He was unarmed at the time and running away. Not to mention tasers are a non lethal weapon anyway.

Have you watched the video? It is clear as day that the officer doesn't even touch his pistol until Brooks fires the taser at him.

And the taser itself may not be lethal, but it incapacitates, and gives access to the officers lethal weapon. They're trained to always be one step higher in the force they use. Brooks used less than lethal, the officer uses lethal.

Again, he was not unarmed, he was not innocent, he was not just running away. He used a less than lethal weapon on an officer. It's clear as day if you watch all the angles.

According to the DA who is prosecuting Rolfe, a taser is considered a deadly weapon under Georgia law. https://www.bitchute.com/video/KWcnjGTulbva/

That was until he prosecuted Rolfe, and now it's no longer a deadly weapon because the script got flipped.

Yep you clearly never watched it. Apparently you can grab a cop's gun while running away from him.

If you were truly just running, you wouldn't turn around and shoot a taser at a cop now would you? You can't deny he turned around and shot the cop with the taser and missed.

He stopped running away to shoot the cop, he could have stopped running to take his gun. Justified.

This. If it was two civilians and the shooter claimed self defense they still wouldnt get away with it because that isnt reasonable force.
why are police above the law?

Georgia has SYG, so non-cops could justifiably kill in self-defense (which ain't "getting away with it" because they posed a threat)

law enforcers are not what theyre supposed to be.in reality, there a bunch of scared men who have to gang up on anything with dark skin and hope theres an inch of a reason to kill them and go back to the precinct laughing about it when they do.**** them and you if you support their evil actions, and i hope you continue to feel safe from people who pose no threat to you.

Sprinting back to steal a gun from a distance is definitely practical.

That's what clinches it in my mind. Shooting him was questionable, but potentially justifiable in the heat of the moment. Deliberately delaying medical aid and further assaulting him once he was clearly no longer a threat, however, takes it from "I needed to shoot this guy for public safety" to "I wanted this guy to die because I'm angry," and nobody who employs the latter mindset in any aspect of their life should be allowed to roam the streets, let alone to police them. That's murder.

It's significantly more practical to turn while running and fire a taser than it is to stop running and charge back and the people you're fleeing from to try and wrestle a gun away from them. If you're calling that "possibility" a justifiable basis for shooting him, you might as well be suggesting that cops should shoot everyone they see because any of them could potentially try taking their gun.
