As far as how long they last anyways

Ive got some older clothes dating back decades that havent shown a whole ton of wear. Like an old shirt I have from a cantina my dad worked at when I was a kid. I keep it really just as a keepsake but its been washed many times over the years and doesnt have any holes or anything like that.

Seems like most modern clothes though start falling apart after just a wash or two. Im lucky if I can wear something twice before the fabric starts pilling. Even when I get stuff thats 100% cotton it seems like the clothes start to wear much faster than fabrics from years back.

Buy better clothes? There's a reason most of them cost more. Cinch jeans as an example are the best jeans you can buy. 100 bucks but i have pairs that have went through shit on the ranch that would have torn others to shreds.

And tee shirts, you buy good brands and they'll last you forever.

People need to learn, buying a five dollar shirt will get you five dollars worth of shirt.

I mostly buy nautica. I have tee shirts from about 10ish years ago that the fabric feels as good and thick now compared to shirts I recently bought. Color fades a little, but can only tell if you lay the old on top of the new and even then its barely. Might not be as bad if I washed them how you should.

I air dry any shirts I want to last a while. I don't scientifically know if drying makes a difference, but in my mind it does. And in practice, those air dried shirts last forever.

Quiksilver makes very comfortable, very durable tee shirts. Kinda expensive though.

Sometimes I just wanna go to a vietnamese sweatshop, and condescendingly explain to the 8 year old working there the importance of pride in one's work.

While it doesn't seem quite that bad from what I've seen, most things don't seem to last. I've even had jeans rip before.

They really don't. The handful of t-shirts from higher end companies (like Tommy Hilfiger) didn't last substantially longer.

T-shirts in general just don't last the way that button-downs do. Granted, for a long time, my t-shirts were getting more wear because I mostly telecommuted for a few years.

In many cases, a five-dollar shirt is made at the same Chinese factory that produces twenty-dollar or even fifty-dollar shirts for other companies.

During the cooler months, I'll sometimes try to wear things twice before washing them just to extend their lifespan a bit

I don't know what it is, but I bought a bunch of polo shirts from Walmart and the material attracts dog fur like nothing else I have. I literally cannot wear these shirts in public because they are COATED with dog fluff, no matter how much I wash or brush them.

I have a couple of Ralph Lauren shirts that have lasted forever. Super comfortable too.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.
