So the reason I've disappeared from these topics lately is several weeks ago I decided I'd rather invest in myself than stock so I started a business. :O

Still getting off the ground so I don't really wanna talk about it yet but it's exciting stuff! Had a really tough setback 2-3 weeks in when a relative passed away unexpectedly. :( I came away from that feeling super unmotivated and like I'd just wasted a bunch of money that I wasn't going to end up doing anything good with. But I've come back out of that and am moving forward again. Here's to hopefully being my own boss a year (or two) from now!

Carnival is selling 6 cruise ships. The thing is, I can't imagine who would buy them at this time. No one is sailing and when it does resume, other cruise companies aren't going to need more ships for a while until demand picks up. Plus, instead of paying 3 billion minimum for 6 cruise ships, you could buy a controlling majority stake in NCLH. Like if you're a billionaire who wants to get into the cruise business, it seems way better to just buy NCLH rather than buy 6 ships from CCL.

Halting your income for 5-6 months is one thing. Preventing future growth by selling your assests is a different thing totally

Im still holding AAL, waiting for it to hit $20 but its been losing me money since I bought it. Increased corona cases is slowing its growth.

ERI is literally the most godly resort stock. Its posted gains for like 30 out of the last 35 days.

I am mid-long term (like 1-2 years) bearish on ERI. They're taking on massive debt (just announced an additional 6 billion in bonds- that's double their market cap) to buy a bigger company with even bigger mountains of debt that had trouble paying even before the closures. Basically, after this ERI will be hyper-leveraged even for a casino company. If things don't recover and recover strongly, I see a bankruptcy in the future. That is what happened the last time CZR was bought out - it went bankrupt quickly.

Plus, with zero commission stock trading now widely available, people can now gamble in the stock market instead of Vegas. If vanilla stocks aren't risky enough to sate one's thirst for gambling, they can buy options or use margin. Daytrading stocks is probably positive expectation or at least EV-neutral and we know that long term buy and hold is significantly EV-positive. Buying options and trading on margin could be EV-negative due to theta decay and margin interest, but even there, the disadvantage is going to be a lot less than at a casino.

I think a lot of people may come out of these 3 months realizing that they can get their gambling fix without incurring a ton of costs to travel to a casino and pay for the house edge.

Let's go. So I'm trying to find some reasons to be optimistic, and I found this. New York implemented a stay home owner on March 20. The market hit bottom on March 23, even though probably 95% of US coronavirus deaths were still in the future at that point. The market is forward looking, so let's hope the market already believes a second wave is coming.

Just as a matter of avoiding confusion, usually when talking about stocks people use "long" to mean you own the stock and are betting on it to rise and "short" to mean you borrowed and sold the stock and are betting on it to go down. Here people are using "long" to mean "long-term" which is not that confusing in context but if someone ever talks about a "short position" to mean a short-term long position, it will be very confusing as the literal meaning will be precisely the opposite of the intended meaning.

Anything below $2.70 is rock solid good I think. The only reason they were below that is because there was an offering for $2.20 for some time. They've generaly been fluctuating between $2.70 and $3.20

I'm gambling again and putting my AVCT winnings into TRPX. Has some solid monentum-- they have been solid since May, had a small spike today, and have an earnings call coming soon which should give it some hype as I feel all the Cannabis based companies have been getting around their earnings calls recently.

We'll see if I hate myself soon for entering at $0.73. It's already down to $0.71 so I'm starting strong!

It's just a company I did a decent amount of research on and thought had potential to explode.

This is why we diversify even on stocks we have a lot of confidence in. Can't imagine how crappy I'd feel if I had all my money in it right now.

There is no official news I'm aware of at the moment

Could be a bad trial
Could be BARDA denying them funding
Could be losing their partnership with Helios.
Could be a lot of panic selling after minor bad news.

I am not really sure. I'm holding though.

I think there is probably bad news here but it's definitely worth way more than $2 unless something truly crazy happened. It has a lot of money to do its research and has good partnerships and what it's studying is potentially useful for a lot of things.

Also waiting for a pullback on GAN but at this rate it's never happening. Finally, probably getting into BBBY because they've been having quite the gains lately.

This is my plan for next week. No more flipping these dumb penny stocks trying to find the next GNUS. Lost 3.4 grand yesterday from CLIR and was super depressed over it :(

In general, meme stocks are negative expectation. Look at the finished graph of a bubble. There is about equal area before and after the peak. But by the time you've noticed a meme stock, it has already advanced far above its baseline. So while you can't predict when the peak will come, it's just more likely you're on the wrong side of it.

Lmao I had amazon at 2400 a few months or so ago and panic sold for a $300 LOSS because it was at its peak at the time and I figured it wouldnt get back up anytime soon.

Amazon and YGYI are my only losses to date though.
